2014–15 Eurocup Basketball
The 2014–15 Eurocup Basketball season was the 13th edition of Europe's second-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs, the EuroCup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one level below the EuroLeague. Khimki won the competition, after beating Herbalife Gran Canaria in the Finals, and earned a spot in the regular season of the 2015–16 Euroleague. Competition format The competition format was the same as in the 2013–14 season, but reducing the Regular Season. For this year 36 teams joined this first stage and were divided into two conferences. The Regular Season featured six groups of six teams each one, where the four best teams qualified to the Last 32 stage with the eight teams that do not qualify to the 2014–15 Euroleague Top 16. BC Khimki (russian: БК Химки) is a Russian professional basketball team that is based in Khimki, Moscow Oblast. The club's senior men's first team participates in the Russian Basketball Super League 1. The club's full official name is BC Khimki Moscow Region. Khimki has a Moscow-based rivalry with the Russian club CSKA Moscow. History BC Khimki was founded on January 5, 1997, and won the first seasons' championship of its regional league, to earn a place in the Russian Superleague A. The following year, Khimki positioned itself among the top 10 basketball clubs in Russia, guaranteeing a place in the 3rd-tier European cup competition, the FIBA Korać Cup. There, the team competed against a group of defeated leaders of the Turkish Super League, YUBA Liga, and Bulgarian League. Pallacanestro Cantù, known for sponsorship reasons as Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù, is an Italian professional basketball club that is based in Cantù, Lombardy. Limoges CSP
Limoges Cercle Saint-Pierre, commonly referred to as Limoges CSP or CSP, is a French professional basketball club based in the city of Limoges. History The club was founded in 1929, but its peak was during the 1980s and 1990s, when they became the first French club to win a major European-wide title in a team sport, by winning the FIBA European League (EuroLeague) in 1993. In the 1999–2000 season, Limoges won its 9th top-tier level French League title, but it was relegated to the French second division LNB Pro B, after winning it, because of financial problems. The club didn't get back to its old state for a long time, as it spent the next 3 years in the Pro A, but was relegated again in 2004. Starting with the 2004–05 season, Limoges played in the NM1, the French third division. It took the club six seasons to eventually return to the Pro A. PAOK FC B ( el, ΠΑΕ ΠΑΟΚ Β, Πανθεσσαλονίκειος Αθλητικός Όμιλος Κωνσταντινουπολιτών , '' Panthessaloníkios Athlitikós Ómilos Konstadinoupolitón'', "Pan-Thessalonian Athletic Club of Constantinopolitans") is a Greek professional football club based in Thessaloniki, Macedonia. Founded in 2021, it is the reserve team of PAOK, and currently plays in Super League Greece 2, holding its home matches at the Makedonikos Stadium. Reserve teams in Greece play in the same league system as the senior team, rather than in a reserve team league. They must play at least one level below their main side, and thus PAOK B are ineligible for promotion to Super League Greece. They also cannot play in the Greek Cup.
