The 2003 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2003, was the 29th regional championship held by FIBA Europe. The competition was held in Greece and took place from September 19 to September 28, 2003. Russia won the gold medal and Czech Republic the silver medal while Spain won the bronze. Lucie Blahůšková from Czech Republic was named the tournament MVP. EuroBasket 2001 Women
EuroBasket Women 2001 occurred in France from September 14 to September 23, 2001. The winners were the home team France, followed by Russia and Spain. Venues The tournament was held in three cities in France: Orléans, Le Mans and Gravelines. The arenas, in which the tournament was held, were: in Orléans, Palais des Sports; in Le Mans, Antarès; and in Gravelines, Gravelines Sportica. Qualification The qualification to the tournament was held in 1999 and 2000. Twenty teams were divided into five groups of four. The top two qualified to the tournament. Apollon Patras Indoor Hall, also known as ''Perivola Indoor Hall'', is an indoor sports arena that is located in Patras, Greece. The arena is known for its unique roof construction, which is made entirely out of wood. The arena belongs to the local multi-sporting club, A.S. Apollon, and it is the home of the club's professional basketball (Apollon Patras) and volleyball teams. The arena has a seating capacity of 3,500 people. The arena also includes an exercise and weight training room, a sauna, a reception area, a press interview room, and a separate practice facility. History Apollon Patras Indoor Hall opened in 1992. Originally, the arena only had tier columns of bleacher style seating, with no individual seats. However, in 2012, the arena was renovated and updated, and seats were added. Amaliada ( el, Αμαλιάδα, Katharevousa: Ἀμαλιάς, ''Amaliás'') is a town and a former municipality in northwestern Elis, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Ilida, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 251.945 km2. In 2011, the municipal unit had 28,520 inhabitants, of whom 16,763 lived in the town of Amaliada. The 2005 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called Eurobasket 2005 Women, was held in Turkey between 2 September and 11 September 2005. The FIBA European Women’s Basketball Championship is a bi-annual women’s basketball competition between national teams organised by FIBA Europe, the sport's governing body in Europe.
