EuroBasket 2005 Qualification
Qualification for the 2005 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2005 took place between 8 September and 25 September 2004.2005 EuroBasket: Division A
FIBA.com. A total of eleven teams qualified for the tournament. Hosts Serbia national basketball team, Serbia and Montenegro plus the top four teams from EuroBasket 2003, Lithuania men's national basketball team, Lithuania, Spain national basketball team, Spain, Italy national basketball team, Italy and Greece national basketball team, Greece qualified directly. Greece took the place of the France national basketball team, French team, which was the fourth-placed team in EuroBasket 2003.

EuroBasket, also commonly referred to as the European Basketball Championship, is the main international basketball competition that is contested quadrennially, by the senior men's national teams that are governed by FIBA Europe, which is the European zone within the International Basketball Federation. The competition was first held in 1935. The former Soviet Union holds the record for most gold medals with a total of 14. The tournament is generally held in August or September, in the offseason of major club competitions. The current defending champion is Spain, who won the 2022 title.
