Verditer Flycatcher
The verditer flycatcher (''Eumyias thalassinus'') is an Old World flycatcher It is found from the Himalayas through Southeast Asia to Sumatra. This species is named after its distinctive shade of copper-sulphate blue and has a dark patch between the eyes and above the bill base. The adult males are intense blue on all areas of the body, except for the black eye-patch and grey vent. Adult females and sub-adults are lighter blue. The verditer flycatcher is also interesting among the flycatchers in that they forage above the canopy level and perching on electric wires or exposed tree top branches. This species was earlier placed in the genus ''Muscicapa'' and it has been suggested that it is closer to the ''Niltava'' flycatchers.Lei Xin, Lian Zhen-Min, Lei Fu-Min, Yin Zuo-Hua, Zhao Hong-Feng (2007). Nilgiri Flycatcher
The Nilgiri flycatcher (''Eumyias albicaudatus'') is an Old World flycatcher with a very restricted range in the hills of southern India. It was formerly referred to as the Nilgiri verditer flycatcher because of its similarity to the verditer flycatcher, a winter migrant to the Nilgiris, which, however, has distinct dark lores and a lighter shade of blue. There are two small white patches at the base of the tail. It is found mainly in the higher altitude shola forests of the Western Ghats and the Nilgiris. Identification This small and somewhat long-tailed flycatcher is about . It is dark steely indigo blue with some violet-blue on the forehead and darker lores. It is much darker than the verditer flycatcher and does not have as strong a contrast in the pale face and black lores. The female is duller with dark brown on the upperparts and dark grey below. The two central tail feathers are blue and the lateral feathers are dark brown and edged with indigo. The bases of the outer t ...

Dull-blue Flycatcher
The dull-blue flycatcher (''Eumyias sordidus'') is a small passerine bird in the flycatcher family, Muscicapidae. It was previously included in the genus ''Muscicapa''. This species is an endemic resident breeder in the hills of central Sri Lanka. The dull-blue flycatcher breeds in deciduous mountain forest, invariably above 600m, although it is not common below 900m. The main breeding season is in March and April, but a second brood is often reared later in the year. The cup-shaped nest is a lined compact mass of moss. The site is usually a well-shaded rock ledge. The normal clutch is two or three brown-spotted pink eggs are laid. This species is 15 cm long. It is similar in shape to the spotted flycatcher and has a loud melodic song.. Adults are ashy blue, with a whitish belly. There is a black patch between the broad black bill and the eye, bordered with brighter blue above and below. Sexes are similar, but females are slightly duller. Juvenile dull-blue flycatcher ...

Buru Jungle Flycatcher
The Buru jungle flycatcher (''Eumyias additus''), also known as the streak-breasted jungle-flycatcher or streaky-breasted jungle-flycatcher, is a species of bird in the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. It is endemic to the island of Buru in Indonesia where it originally inhabited tropical forests at elevations between 500 and 1,500 metres. This species was previously assigned to the genus ''Rhinomyias'' but was moved to ''Eumyias'' after a 2010 molecular phylogenetic study found that ''Rhinomyias'' was polyphyletic. Conservation Because of the very limited habitat, logging of the forests and expanding human activities on the island, the species was listed as vulnerable in 1994 by the IUCN The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN; officially International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources) is an international organization working in the field of nature conservation and sustainable use of natu ....
