Brazilian People
Brazilians ( pt, Brasileiros, ) are the citizens of Brazil. A Brazilian can also be a person born abroad to a Brazilian parent or legal guardian as well as a person who acquired Brazilian nationality law, Brazilian citizenship. Brazil is a multiethnic society, which means that it is home to people of many ethnic origins, and there is no correlation between one's stock and their Brazilian identity. Being Brazilian is a civic phenomenon, rather than an ethnic one. As a result, the degree to which Brazilian citizens identify with their ancestral roots varies significantly depending on the individual, the Regions of Brazil, region of the country, and the specific ethnic origins in question. Most often, however, the idea of ethnicity as it is understood in the anglophone world is not popular in the country. In the period after the colonization of the Brazilian territory by Portugal, during much of the 16th century, the word "Brazilian" was given to the Portuguese merchants of Brazil ...

Herpetology
Herpetology (from Greek ἑρπετόν ''herpetón'', meaning "reptile" or "creeping animal") is the branch of zoology concerned with the study of amphibians (including frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and caecilians (gymnophiona)) and reptiles (including snakes, lizards, amphisbaenids, turtles, terrapins, tortoises, crocodilians, and the tuataras). Birds, which are cladistically included within Reptilia, are traditionally excluded here; the scientific study of birds is the subject of ornithology. Thus, the definition of herpetology can be more precisely stated as the study of ectothermic (cold-blooded) tetrapods. Under this definition "herps" (or sometimes "herptiles" or "herpetofauna") exclude fish, but it is not uncommon for herpetological and ichthyological scientific societies to collaborate. Examples include publishing joint journals and holding conferences in order to foster the exchange of ideas between the fields, as the American Society of Ichthyologists and He ...

Portuguese Language
Portuguese ( or, in full, ) is a western Romance language of the Indo-European language family, originating in the Iberian Peninsula of Europe. It is an official language of Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau and São Tomé and Príncipe, while having co-official language status in East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, and Macau. A Portuguese-speaking person or nation is referred to as " Lusophone" (). As the result of expansion during colonial times, a cultural presence of Portuguese speakers is also found around the world. Portuguese is part of the Ibero-Romance group that evolved from several dialects of Vulgar Latin in the medieval Kingdom of Galicia and the County of Portugal, and has kept some Celtic phonology in its lexicon. With approximately 250 million native speakers and 24 million L2 (second language) speakers, Portuguese has approximately 274 million total speakers. It is usually listed as the sixth-most spoken language, the third-most sp ...

Universidade Federal Rural Do Rio De Janeiro
The Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro ( pt, Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, UFRRJ) is a public university located in Seropédica in the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It possesses the largest campus among Latin American universities and is known for being the first university to offer agriculture related courses in Brazil. In the 2019 ''Folha de São Paulo'' rankings, UFRRJ was ranked 35th in Brazil, with its programs in veterinary medicine and animal science in the top 10. History Founded in October 20, 1910, by then president of the republic Nilo Peçanha, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (, ESAMV) laid the foundations of agricultural education in Brazil, and began operating in 1913. In 1934, the ESAMV was split into three institutions: the National School of Agriculture, National School of Veterinary Medicine and the National School of Chemistry (incorporated in 1937 by the University of Brazil, later renamed the Federal University ...

Brachycephalus Didactylus
The Brazilian gold frog (''Brachycephalus didactylus''), also known as Izecksohn's toad or flea-frog, is a very small species of frogs in the family Brachycephalidae. It is endemic to southeastern Brazil and is known from the central part of the state of Rio de Janeiro and from Serra das Torres in extreme southern Espírito Santo. All three English names are misleading or potentially confusing. Many species in the genus '' Brachycephalus'' are bright yellow-orange, hence the name "Brazilian gold frog", but ''B. didactylus'' is all brown. "Izecksohn's toad" leads to easy confusion with another species in the genus, '' B. izecksohni'', and both names refer to the herpetologist Eugênio Izecksohn. "Flea-frog" or "flea-toad" was historically restricted to ''B. didactylus'', once placed in its own genus ''Psyllophryne'' instead of ''Brachycephalus'', but a second species, '' B. hermogenesi'', was described in 1998 and two others, '' B. pulex'' and '' B. sulfuratus'', have been descri ...

Taxa
In biology, a taxon (back-formation from ''taxonomy''; plural taxa) is a group of one or more populations of an organism or organisms seen by taxonomists to form a unit. Although neither is required, a taxon is usually known by a particular name and given a particular ranking, especially if and when it is accepted or becomes established. It is very common, however, for taxonomists to remain at odds over what belongs to a taxon and the criteria used for inclusion. If a taxon is given a formal scientific name, its use is then governed by one of the nomenclature codes specifying which scientific name is correct for a particular grouping. Initial attempts at classifying and ordering organisms (plants and animals) were set forth in Carl Linnaeus's system in ''Systema Naturae'', 10th edition (1758), as well as an unpublished work by Bernard and Antoine Laurent de Jussieu. The idea of a unit-based system of biological classification was first made widely available in 1805 in the int ...

Brachycephalus Izecksohni
''Brachycephalus izecksohni'' is a species of frog in the family Brachycephalidae Endemism, endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes in the areas of Pico Torre da Prata, between the districts of Guaratuba and Paranaguá in Paraná (state), Paraná, Brazil. Named for Brazilian herpetologist Eugenio Izecksohn, it is found in leaf-litter and is diurnal. It is threatened by habitat loss for logging, cattle pasture and agriculture such as sugar cane, coffee, and exotic trees. References

Bokermannohyla Izecksohni
''Bokermannohyla izecksohni'', also known as Izecksohn's treefrog, is a species of frog in the family Hylidae. It is endemic to São Paulo state, Brazil. It was already considered possibly extinct in 2004, but three living frogs were discovered in 2005–2006. It is a medium-sized treefrog, measuring about in snout–vent length. Etymology The specific name ''izecksohni'' honours Eugênio Izecksohn, a Brazilian herpetologist. Habitat and conservation ''Bokermannohyla izecksohni'' occurs in forests near streams at elevations of above sea level. Breeding takes place in temporary ponds. It is threatened by habitat loss: the type locality has already been destroyed by agriculture and human settlement. However, the discovery of two new populations in 2005–2006 suggested that it is not quite as threatened as previously feared; one of them is in the Serra do Mar State Park The Serra do Mar State Park ( pt, Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar) is a state park in the state of São Pau ...

Description It is a medium- to large-bodied mouse-eared bat among those found in South America. It has a forearm length ranging from . Its fur is long with a silky texture; the fur of its back is bicolored, with the basal two-thirds of individual hairs dark, while the distal third is dark-brown to medium-brown.
