Eugene Sims
Eugene Sims (born March 16, 1986) is a former American football defensive end. He was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at West Texas A&M University. Early years Sims enjoyed a standout prep career at Mize Attendance Center in Mississippi competing in football as well as track and field. He graduated in May 2005. College career Jones County Junior College Sims began his college career at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi where he recorded 51 tackles, five QB sacks three tackled for losses and one forced fumble as a sophomore. He was rewarded at season's end with an appearance in the MACJC All-Star game. Sims moved to the defensive line in 2006 after being a nine-game starter for the Bobcats at strong safety in 2005. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. The 2010 NFL Draft was the 75th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. The 2010 draft took place over three days, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, with the first round on April 22, 2010. The second and third rounds took place on April 23, while the final four rounds were held on April 24. Television coverage was provided by both NFL Network and ESPN. Ellisville, Mississippi
Ellisville is a town in and the first county seat of Jones County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 4,448 at the time of the 2010 census, up from 3,465 at the 2000 census. The Jones County Courthouse is located here, as is much of the county government. The state legislature authorized a second county seat at Laurel, to the northeast, which developed as the center of lumber and textile mills, with a much larger population. Jones College is a public community college in Ellisville, Mississippi. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and serves its eight-county district consisting of Clarke, Covington, Greene, Jasper, Jones, Perry, Smith, and Wayne Counties.
