Eugene E. Campbell
Eugene Edward "Gene" Campbell (April 26, 1915 – April 10, 1986) was an American professor of history at Brigham Young University. Biography Campbell was born and raised in Tooele, Utah, in a working-class Latter-day Saint family, Edward Campbell and Betsy Ann Bowen. When Campbell was fourteen, his father, who was a railroad engineer, died suddenly. His mother was active in the community and her elected position as county treasurer helped the family survive the Great Depression. Education and military service Following his 1933 graduation from Tooele High School, his interest in sports led him to attend Snow Junior College in Ephraim, Utah. He was not very active in sports and student government and received his Associate of Arts degree in 1935. Tooele ( ) is a city in Tooele County in the U.S. state of Utah. The population was 35,742 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Tooele County. Magna, Utah
Magna ( ) is a metro township in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. The current population of the township stands at 29,251 according to the 2020 census, a 10.4% increase over 26,505 in 2010. History Settlement Settlement of the area began in 1851 shortly after pioneers reached the Salt Lake Valley. Early farmers settled in 1868 at the base of the northern Oquirrh Mountains and called their community Pleasant Green. By 1900, there were about 20 families in the area. One of the first Pleasant Green farmers was Abraham Coon, who established a livestock ranch and settlement called Coonville in a canyon mouth at about 5400 South now known as Coon Canyon. Wayne County is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,778, making it the fourth-least populous county in Utah. Its county seat is Loa. History Due to its remoteness and harsh terrain, settlements did not appear in the future Wayne County until the 1880s.
