Eu () is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region in northern France. Eu is located near the coast in the eastern part of the department, near the border with Picardy. Its inhabitants are known in French as the ''Eudois''. Geography Eu is situated at the junction of the RD 1015, the RD 925, the RD 940 and the RD 1314 roads, in the steep-sided valley of the river Bresle, whose mouth is away to the north-west in Le Tréport. Eu station has rail connections to Beauvais and Le Tréport. Etymology The name of the commune is related to that of the river on which it stands. The railway from Épinay-Villetaneuse to Le Tréport-Mers is a French 173-kilometre long railway line, that connects Paris to Le Tréport on the English Channel coast. It was opened in several stages between 1872 and 1877. Route The Épinay-Villetaneuse–Le Tréport-Mers railway begins near the Épinay-Villetaneuse station, where it branches off the railway from Paris to Pontoise. It winds in generally northern direction to the Montsoult-Maffliers station, where the line to Luzarches branches off. It crosses the river Oise in Persan, and continues in northwestern direction towards Beauvais. It passes through Abancourt. From Aumale it follows the river Bresle downstream until it reaches its terminus Le Tréport-Mers station, near the beach resort towns Le Tréport and Mers-les-Bains. Réseau ferré de France (RFF, french: French Rail Network) was a French company which owned and maintained the France, French national railway network from 1997 to 2014. The company was formed with the rail assets of SNCF in 1997. Afterwards, the trains were operated by the SNCF, the national railway company, but due to EU Directive 91/440, European Union Directive 91/440, the Government of France was required to separate train operations from the railway infrastructure. On 1 January 2015, RFF became ''SNCF Réseau'', the operational assets of SNCF became ''SNCF Mobilités'', and both groups were placed under the control of SNCF. Unlike other infrastructure managers, RFF did not provide maintenance services or rail traffic control operations, which were both done by SNCF Infra on RFF's behalf. Le Tréport-Mers Station
The Gare du Tréport-Mers is a railway station in the commune of Le Tréport in the Seine-Maritime department, France. It is only a few metres from Mers-les-Bains, which is in the Somme department. Railway service The Gare du Tréport-Mers is the terminus of the Paris–Beauvais– Abancourt–Le Tréport-Mers and the Abbeville–Le Tréport-Mers lines. The station is served by ATER X 73500, XGC X 76500 and on occasions modernised X 4630 rollingstock. Every Sunday it is also served by a Corail train connecting it to Paris Gare du Nord. Train services to Abbeville were discontinued in 2018. The Gare d'Eu (Eu station) is a railway station in the commune of Eu in the Seine-Maritime department, France, in Normandy. It is the main station for Eu; the former Eu-la Mouillette was better located but served by only one rail line. History The station was previously called Gare d'Eu-La Chaussée or simply Gare de la Chaussée. It was opened by the Nord company on 11 May 1872 as part of the line between Longroy-Gamaches and Le Tréport-Mers. From 4 December 1888 when the line between Abbeville and Eu was opened, it was a transfer point for passengers travelling towards Dieppe. The line between Eu and Dieppe was closed on 2 October 1938 and has been partly turned into a footpath: ''le chemin vert du Petit Caux'' (Petit-Caux greenway).
