Ettore Mendicino (born 11 February 1990) is an Italian footballer who plays as a striker for Sambenedettese. Club career Lazio Born in Milan, Mendicino began his career in Rome with the successful Lazio youth system. Playing as a centre-forward and earmarked as a potential future- Luca Toni, Mendicino was touted as a key member of Lazio's future. Mendicino was first promoted to the Lazio first time during the 2007–08 season, yet did not make a senior debut. At the beginning of the 2008–09 season, Mendicino played for the first team in pre-season friendlies, having a goal wrongfully disallowed against Liverpool at Anfield. On 8 February 2009, Mendicino made his Serie A debut, coming on as an injury time substitute for Cristian Ledesma in Lazio's 1–0 loss to Fiorentina. The Serie D () is the top level of semi-professional football in the country. The fourth tier of the Italian league system, the competition sits beneath the third professional league, Serie C. Lega Pro Prima Divisione
Lega Pro Prima Divisione was the third highest football league in Italy. It consisted of 33 teams, divided geographically into two divisions of 16 and 17 teams for group A and B respectively. Until 2008 it was known as Serie C1. Before the 1978–79 season there were only three leagues of professional football in Italy, the third being Serie C. In 1978, it was decided to split Serie C into Serie C1 and Serie C2. Serie C2, the fourth highest professional league in the Italian system, was also renamed in 2008 and was called Lega Pro Seconda Divisione. Co-ownership (football)
Co-ownership is a system whereby two football clubs own the contract of a player jointly, although the player is only registered to play for one club. It is not a universal system, but is used in some countries, including Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. It was formerly commonplace in Italy, though the practice has now been abolished there. This type of deal differs from third-party ownership, in that in the latter, the player's contract is owned by a non-footballing entity, such as a management company.
