Etters Beach
Etters Beach ( 2016 population: 30) is a resort village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Census Division No. 11. It is on the west shore of Last Mountain Lake in the Rural Municipality of Big Arm No. 251. History Etters Beach incorporated as a resort village on October 1, 1965. Government The Resort Village of Etters Beach is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed clerk. The mayor is Erin Leier and its clerk is Denise Brecht. Parks and recreation Etters Beach Recreation Site Campground is located adjacent to the village. The recreation site features 12 daily rental campsites serviced with 30-amp electricity and water plus 29 seasonal campsites. There's also a large area with un-electrified campsites. Last Mountain Lake
Last Mountain Lake, also known as Long Lake, is a prairie lake formed from glaciation 11,000 years ago. It is located in south central Saskatchewan, Canada, about north-west of the city of Regina. It flows into the Qu'Appelle River via Last Mountain Creek, which flows past Craven. It is approximately long, and wide at its widest point. It is the largest naturally occurring body of water in southern Saskatchewan. Only Lake Diefenbaker, which is man-made, is larger. The lake is a popular resort area for residents of south-eastern Saskatchewan. The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. The 2016 Canadian census was an enumeration of Canadian residents, which counted a population of 35,151,728, a change from its 2011 population of 33,476,688. Last Mountain Lake Bird Sanctuary
Last Mountain Lake Bird Sanctuary is a National Historic Site of Canada, located in the rural municipality of Last Mountain Valley No. 250 in Saskatchewan. The migratory bird sanctuary was the first established in North America. The area is within the Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area, an International Biological Program site, and includes adjacent uplands. The site is used as a staging or nesting area by numerous migratory and colonial bird species, including the sandhill crane and the endangered whooping crane. The lake has rich spawning grounds used by numerous fish species, including the vulnerable bigmouth buffalo. National parks Provincial parks The Government of Canada, federal government transferred control of natural resources to the Western Canada, western provinces in 1930 with the Natural Resources Acts. At that time, the Saskatchewan government set up its own Department of Natural Resources. In an attempt to get people working and to encourage tourism during the Great Depression, several projects were set up by the government, including setting up a provincial park system in 1931.
