Etim Jack Okpoyo
Etim Jack Okpoyo (born 23 September 1943), was a Nigerian politician. He is of Oron origin. He is the former and the first deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 1992–1993. He was a businessman, a one-time Ambassador of Nigeria to Italy and Albania, and a civil engineer. Early life Okpoyo was born on September 23, 1943, the seventh child of Chief Jack and Akon Okpoyo. He began his education at Eyubia Central School. In 1950 he was transferred to the District Council School Oruko, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). In 1959 he proceeded to Lutheran High School, Obot Idim, now in the Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area. There, he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC) in Division Two in 1963. Lutheran High School, Obot Idim
Lutheran High School, Obot Idim is a Christian high school in Ibesikpo Asutan, Ibesikpo Asutan local government, Akwa Ibom. The school has an average class size of 20 students. History Lutheran High School, Obot Idim was established in 1950. Rev. John Louis Konz was the first principal of the school. About 500 candidates took the first-ever entrance examination of the school, and only 28 were successful. The school kicked off with the 28 successful candidates on the premises of Boechler Memorial Primary School. Few years after its establishment, the school started seeing an increase in the number of applications. And by 1961, the student population had risen to 348. The number of teachers had also increased. That prompted the Lutheran Church of Nigeria to move the school from the Boechler Memorial Primary School to its present location. Calabar
Calabar (also referred to as Callabar, Calabari, Calbari and Kalabar) is the capital city of Cross River State, Nigeria. It was originally named Akwa Akpa, in the Efik language. The city is adjacent to the Calabar and Great Kwa rivers and creeks of the Cross River (from its inland delta). Obong Akpan Isemin
Obong Akpan Isemin was elected governor of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria from January 1992 to November 1993 during the Nigerian Third Republic. He also held the traditional title of Obong Ikpa Isong Ibibio, one of the traditional titles amongst the Ibibio nation. Background Isemin was born about 1939 in Mbioto, Etinan local government area in Akwa Ibom state, of Ibibio background. He attended the Etinan Institute for his secondary education, then the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he earned a B.Sc. degree in Economics. He first worked with Agip and Esso Standard in the oil industry.
