Diablo (band)
Diablo is a Finnish melodic death metal band, formed in 1995 as Diablo Brothers. The band cite Testament (band), Testament, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Opeth, Death (metal band), Death, and Meshuggah as influences, but influence from several Gothenburg metal, Gothenburg bands, including Dark Tranquillity, Hypocrisy (band), Hypocrisy, and In Flames, is also evident in their music. Their fourth album, ''Mimic47'', was released in January 2006, and reached No. 1 on the Finnish music charts. On 14 May 2008 Diablo released their 5th studio album, Icaros (album), Icaros. Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Poko Rekords was a Finland, Finnish record label. It was established in 1977, but ceased operations in 2009. In the early years, Poko Rekords focused mainly on Punk rock, punk and rockabilly music and later expanded its artist range to Heavy metal music, heavier rock music. Rainer Nygård (born 1972) is a Finland, Finnish guitar player and singer for the band Diablo (band), Diablo. He was born in Kalajoki but now resides in Tampere.
