Eternals (comics)
The Eternals are a fictional extraterrestrial race of humanoids appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They were created by Jack Kirby, making their first appearance in ''The Eternals'' #1 (July 1976). In the Marvel Universe, the Eternals are an offshoot of humanity known as ''Homo immortalis'' which were created one million years ago by the enigmatic alien Celestials to defend Earth with their superhuman powers and abilities. Their primary adversaries are the Deviants, who share a similar origin and pose a regular threat to humanity. Due to their virtual immortality, Eternals have largely secluded themselves from humans, with their god-like status forming the basis of various mythological figures around the world. ''Eternals'' is a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race Eternals (comics), of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, the 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Eternal (group)
Eternal were a British R&B girl group formed in 1992, with the line-up consisting of Easther Bennett and her older sister Vernie Bennett, with Kéllé Bryan and her friend and classmate Louise Redknapp, who were also recruited into the group by the label. The group became an international success, selling around 10 million records worldwide. Louise Redknapp left the group before the release of their second album to focus on her solo career with the same label. Kéllé Bryan left the group under undisclosed circumstances in 1998. Sisters Easther Bennett and Vernie Bennett were the only members left when they disbanded in 2000. Eternal made a brief comeback in 2013, with Kéllé Bryan returning to the group, only for the group to disband once again in 2014. The Eternal are an Australian gothic/doom metal band formed in 2003 by Mark Kelson (ex- Cryptal Darkness) on guitar, lead vocals and keyboards. They are known for playing dark, melodic, doom metal with eastern and gothic influences. History The Eternal were formed in Melbourne in mid-2003 by former members of doom metal act Cryptal Darkness. The founders were Ryan Buesnel on drums; Chris Burton on guitar; James Hunt on bass guitar; Mark Kelson on guitar and lead vocals; and Chris Stevenson on keyboards. Late that year, they signed a two-album deal with Firebox Records of Finland on the basis of their self-titled extended play. Immortality is the concept of eternal life. Some modern species may possess biological immortality. Some scientists, futurists, and philosophers have theorized about the immortality of the human body, with some suggesting that human immortality may be achievable in the first few decades of the 21st century with the help of certain technologies such as mind uploading (digital immortality). Other advocates believe that life extension is a more achievable goal in the short term, with immortality awaiting further research breakthroughs. The absence of aging would provide humans with biological immortality, but not invulnerability to death by disease or injury.
