Estádio Cidade de Coimbra is a stadium in Coimbra, Portugal. This stadium belongs to the Municipality of Coimbra and is mainly used by the Académica de Coimbra's football team. The stadium was rebuilt, expanded, and modernized to host some UEFA Euro 2004 matches. Far beyond the sports stadium itself, all the project, called Euro Stadium Project, included the possibility of organizing sports, culture, and commercial events, by the modernization of the entire Calhabé area in Coimbra. On 29 October 2003, Académica de Coimbra played at home to Sport Lisboa e Benfica in the first official match in the remodelled stadium. Coimbra (, also , , or ) is a city and a municipality in Portugal. The population of the municipality at the 2011 census was 143,397, in an area of . UEFA Euro 2000 Qualifying
Qualifying for the UEFA Euro 2000 final tournament, took place throughout 1998 and 1999. Forty-nine teams were divided into nine groups. All teams played against each other, within their groups, on a home-and-away basis. The winner of each group and the best runner-up qualified automatically for the final tournament. The rest of the runners-up played an additional set of playoff matches amongst each other. Belgium and the Netherlands qualified automatically as co-hosts of the event. 2010–11 Taça Da Liga
The 2010–11 Taça da Liga was the fourth edition of the Portuguese Taça da Liga. The first matches were played on 8 August 2010. The final was played on 23 April 2011 at the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra, where Benfica beat Paços de Ferreira 2–1 to win their third title. Format This seasons' format consists of 3 rounds, plus knockout stages. In the first round only second division teams play. All 16 teams are allocated into four groups of four teams each. Each team plays 3 matches and top two of each group advances. The 2021 Taça de Portugal Final was the last match of the 2020–21 Taça de Portugal, which decided the winner of the 81st edition of the Taça de Portugal, the premier knockout competition in Portuguese football. It was played on 23 May 2021 at the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra in Coimbra, between Braga and Benfica. It was the 38th final for Benfica in the competition's history after they won the 2017 final and lost the 2020 final, while Braga qualified for their seventh final. A total of 165 clubs compete in this edition, including all teams from the top three tiers of the Portuguese football league system – excluding reserve or B teams, which are not eligible – and representatives of the fourth-tier District leagues and cups. The competition began on 26 September 2020 with the first-round matches involving teams from the third and fourth tiers, and concluded on 23 May 2021 with the final at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras. The 2019–20 Taça de Portugal (also known as Taça de Portugal Placard for sponsorship reasons) was the 80th edition of the Taça de Portugal, the premier knockout competition in Portuguese football. The Estádio Nacional (English: National Stadium), also known as National Stadium Sports Complex ( pt, Complexo Desportivo do Estádio Nacional) and as ''Jamor Sports Complex'' ( pt, Complexo Desportivo do Jamor), is a national football stadium used by the Portugal national team and by Belenenses SAD since 2018. O Clássico ("The Classic") is the name given in football to matches between Portuguese clubs S.L. Benfica and FC Porto.
