Clube de Futebol Estrela dos Amadores ( Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Strela dus Amadoris'' and the São Vicente Crioulo: ''Estrela dos Amadores'') is a football (soccer) club that plays in the Santiago Island League North Zone in Cape Verde. The team is based in the town of Tarrafal in the northern part of the island of Santiago and are one of the oldest clubs in the area. Since the implementation of the two tier regional system in 2015, Estrela dos Amadores are one of ten unrelegated clubs of the North Zone of Santiago. History The club was founded in 1992 and became registered in 1998. The team won three regional titles in 2004, in 2009 and in 2012 and possessing the second most titles in the region since 2009, from 2012 to 2013, its titles were shared with Scorpion Vermelho of Pedra Badejo. Estádio De Mangue
Estádio de Mangue or Estádio Municipal do Tarrafal is a multi-purpose stadium in the neighborhood of Mangue in Tarrafal, Cape Verde nearly 100 meters north of the communal boundary of Chão Bom and just west of the Assomada-Tarrafal Road (EN1-ST01). It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 200 people and its dimensions is 105 x 67 meters. It is one of four that are operated by the Santiago North Regional Football Association (ARFSN). The stadium is home to Tarrafal's best clubs including Amabox Barcelona (absent from competition since 2014), Beira-Mar, Estrela dos Amadores and Varandinha. 2009 Cape Verdean Football Championships
The 2009 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 30th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 16 April, earlier than the last season and finished on 11 June. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Sporting would win their 8th title and fourth straight after defeating the city's rival Académica. This was the first final competition that featured two clubs from the same island as well as the same city, it happened the following season with Boavista. Grupo Desportivo Varandinha (also in the Capeverdean Crioulos of ALUPEC or ALUPEK and São Vicente Crioulo) is a football (soccer) club that plays in the Santiago Island League North Zone in Cape Verde. Sporting Praia won the ninth title (eleventh overall), it would be the club's most recent title win. This time, Sporting Praia did not participate in the 2013 CAF Champions League.
