Estonia National Football Team
The Estonia national football team ( et, Eesti jalgpallikoondis) represents Estonia in international football matches and is controlled by the Estonian Football Association, the governing body for football in Estonia. Estonia's home ground is Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn. Estonia's first match was held against Finland in 1920, being a 6–0 defeat. The team participated in the 1924 Olympic Games tournament, their only participation. In 1940, Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union and did not regain independence (and the possibility of a national football team) until 1991. Estonia's first FIFA recognised match as an independent nation after the break-up of the Soviet Union, was against Slovenia on 3 June 1992, a 1–1 draw in the Estonian capital city of Tallinn. Estonia has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship. Kaimar Saag (born 5 August 1988) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Paide Linnameeskond. Club career Levadia At the age of 16, Saag started his professional career with Levadia. He scored his first Meistriliiga goal on 16 October 2005, in the 28th minute of a 2–3 victory over Merkuur. In 2007 Meistriliiga season, he had a short loan with Tallinna Kalev where he scored once in 14 games. At the age of 19, after three seasons in Levadia, Saag moved abroad. Artūras Rimkevičius (14 April 1983 – 23 September 2019) was a Lithuanian footballer who played as a striker. He committed suicide by gunshot on 23 September 2019, aged 36. Mantas Savėnas (born 27 August 1982) is a former Lithuanian professional Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. He is currently a coach for FK Panevėžys. Savėnas represented Lithuania national football team, Lithuania at under-21 level before establishing himself as a regular player in the Lithuanian national team. In the 2005 LFF Lyga, 2005 season Savėnas became Lithuanian A Lyga top scorer with 27 goals and was voted best player in Lithuania, receiving 177 from 200 votes. The Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) ( lt, Lietuvos futbolo federacija) is the governing body of football in Lithuania. Gediminas Mažeika (born 24 March 1978 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian former professional football referee. He is a FIFA referee, Mažeika refereed one group stage match in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League, between Bayer Leverkusen against Monaco in December 2016.
