Esther Veltman
Esther Veltman (born 27 December 1966) is a former Dutch cricketer whose international career for the Dutch national side spanned from 1985 to 1993. A left-arm medium-pacer, she played in 19 One Day International (ODI) matches, including games at both the 1988 and 1993 World Cups. Veltman made her senior international debut at the age of 18, playing against Ireland and a WCA select team during a tour of England in 1985. Oegstgeest () is a town and municipality in the province of South Holland in the western Netherlands. Its population was in . Etymology The portion ''geest'' in the name refers to the geest lands, which were excavated in the seventeenth century for the benefit of the urban expansion of Leiden. The West Indies women's cricket team, nicknamed the Windies, is a combined team of players from various countries in the Caribbean that competes in international women's cricket. The team is organised by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC), which represents fifteen countries and territories. Bowling Average
In cricket, a player's bowling average is the number of runs they have conceded per wicket taken. The lower the bowling average is, the better the bowler is performing. It is one of a number of statistics used to compare bowlers, commonly used alongside the economy rate and the strike rate to judge the overall performance of a bowler. When a bowler has taken only a small number of wickets, their bowling average can be artificially high or low, and unstable, with further wickets taken or runs conceded resulting in large changes to their bowling average. Due to this, qualification restrictions are generally applied when determining which players have the best bowling averages. The England women's cricket team represents England and Wales in international women's cricket. Since 1998, they have been governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), having been previously governed by the Women's Cricket Association. The Women's European Cricket Championship is a women's cricket tournament for teams representing European countries. The first edition was contested in 1989. History The first Women's European Championship was held in Denmark in July 1989. The teams that took part were England, Ireland and the Netherlands in addition to the hosts Denmark. England won all three of their matches, with the other teams winning one match each. England thus won the tournament. All matches were official Women's One-Day Internationals and Denmark's match against Ireland was their first such game. The second edition was held in Leicester, Nottingham and Northamptonshire in England in July 1990. The same teams as 1989 again competed, and England again won all their games.
