''Estet'' (stylised as ''ESTET'') is a 2010 Malaysian Malay-language romantic comedy-drama film directed by Mamat Khalid. It was released 4 November 2010. It is produced by his company Naga XV, and is in Malay and Tamil languages. The film was nominated for 10 categories in the 23rd Malaysia Film Festival, in which it won the Special Jury Award category while one of its actors, Shashi Taran, won the Best Supporting Actor category. Mamat Khalid
Mohamad Mohamad Khalid, known professionally as Mamat Khalid (6 April 1963 – 24 October 2021) was a Malaysian screenwriter, film director, and occasional actor. He was the younger brother of cartoonist Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid, better known as Lat. Apart of his career as a film director, Mamat was a founder and owner of his cafe, Sarang Art Hub which is located at Tanjung Malim and opened in 2016. Life and career Mamat was born on 6 April 1963 in Ipoh, Perak. As a young boy, he used to go to the cinemas every other day to catch the latest movies. Unfortunately, his hobby did not resonate well with his father, who banned him from frequenting cinemas even on his deathbed. However, that did not break the young Mamat's passion for films. David Arumugam
Dato’ Thiagarajan K.R. Arumugam (born 3 May 1950), known by his stage name David Arumugam, is a Malaysian musician and singer who is one of the founding members of the band called Alleycats. He is the elder brother of Loganathan Arumugam. On 12 February 2009, David Arumugam was conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) award which carries the title of " Dato' " in conjunction with the Sultan of Pahang's 78th birthday on 24 October 2008. Alleycats (Malaysian Rock Band)
The Alleycats is a Malaysian band which was formed in 1969, and gained popularity in the late 1970s. It consists of musicians from Penang who were popular in their home state earlier on in their career. History There were earlier line-ups of this band but the original line-up mentioned were the ones that took the Alleycats to great height of achievements musically. The Alleycats was always on top of the musical scene in Malaysia even before it was signed up as a recording band. This line-up secured a performance contract in the Mocambo Club situated in Central, a business sector on Hong Kong island in 1976.
