Harry Allison Estep
Harry Allison Estep (February 1, 1884 – February 28, 1968) was an American politician and Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. Biography Harry A. Estep was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended the public schools in Marion, Indiana, and Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1913. He was admitted to the bar in 1914 and commenced practice in Pittsburgh. He served as assistant district attorney of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, from 1917 to 1927. Estep was elected as a Republican to the Seventieth, Seventy-first, and Seventy-second Congresses. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1932. He resumed the practice of law until his retirement in 1964. He died in Oakland, Pennsylvania, and is buried in Allegheny Cemetery Allegheny Cemetery is one of the largest and oldest burial grounds in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Margaret Ann "Maggie" Estep (March 20, 1963 – February 12, 2014) was an American writer and poet, best known for coming to prominence during the height of the spoken word and poetry slam performance rage. She published seven books and released two spoken word albums: ''No More Mr. Nice Girl'' and '' Love is a Dog From Hell''. Biography Margaret Ann Estep was born in 1963 in Summit, New Jersey. Mary Jo Estep
Mary Josephine Estep (1909 or 1910 — 19 December 1992) was a Shoshone child survivor of the Battle of Kelley Creek, "the last massacre" of Native Americans in the United States, in 1911. Early life Mary Josephine Estep was born in 1909 or 1910, to Wenega Daggett. Her grandfather was Mike Daggett, also known as "Shoshone Mike" after his death. She was a little more than a year old when her mother was killed near Winnemucca, Nevada. In February 1911 Mike Daggett and band killed four White stockmen at Little High Rock Canyon in northern Washoe County. A posse responded by confronting the twelve members of the Daggett band at Kelley Creek. Four children, including Estep, survived the subsequent shootout, and were taken to the jail in Reno for protection. Only Estep was still alive by 1913. (The other three had died of diseases). Preston Estep
Preston "Pete" Wayne Estep III is an American biologist and science and technology advocate. He is a graduate of Cornell University, where he did neuroscience research, and he earned a Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard University. He did his doctoral research in the laboratory of genomics pioneer Professor George M. Church at Harvard Medical School. Estep is an inventor of several technologies including DNA chip-based readout of transposon-based selections and universal DNA protein-binding microarrays (PBMs). He is Director of Gerontology and an adviser to the Personal Genome Project, the first "open-source" genome project founded by George Church and based at Harvard Medical School. He is one of the main subjects of the documentary film Reconvergence. Estep was the Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Veritas Genetics.
