Estefania Knuth
Estefania Knuth (born 4 May 1973) is a Spanish professional golfer and former member of the Ladies European Tour. She won the 1992 Espirito Santo Trophy and the 1995 Singapore Ladies Open. Career Knuth was born in Barcelona and had a successful amateur career. She won the 1989 Junior Orange Bowl in Florida and was runner-up at the European Ladies Amateur championship in 1990 and 1993. She won the French International Lady Juniors Amateur Championship twice, and won the 1992 French Ladies Amateur ahead of compatriot Laura Navarro. Knuth won the 1992 Espirito Santo Trophy in Vancouver, Canada together with Macarena Campomanes and Laura Navarro, and won gold at the 1993 Mediterranean Games in France both individually and in the team event together with Marina Arruti and Navarro. Knuth turned professional 1993 and joined the Ladies European Tour. Her best finish was a tie for third at the 1998 Austrian Ladies Open, two strokes behind Lynnette Brooky of New Zealand. Ladies Asian Golf Tour
The Ladies Asian Golf Tour is a women's professional golf tour that was established as the Ladies Asia Golf Circuit in 1983 and known as the Kosaido Ladies Asia Golf Circuit 1987–2004 for sponsorship reasons. The tour was sanctioned by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation since its inception as an official Asian ladies' tour. By 2005 there were five established women's professional tours in the world, of which two were in Asia, namely the LPGA of Japan Tour and the LPGA of Korea Tour. 1990 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 1990 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 18–21 October at Russley Golf Club in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was the 14th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 26 team entries, each with three players. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The United States team won the Trophy, defending their title from two years ago and earning the title for the 11th time, beating the hosting country team New Zealand by 12 strokes. New Zealand earned the silver medal while the combined team of Great Britain & Ireland took the bronze on third place another eight strokes back. Espirito Santo Trophy
The Espirito Santo Trophy (World Women's Amateur Team Championships) is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organised by the International Golf Federation. The inaugural event was held in 1964. It was instituted by the French Golf Federation in an agreement with the United States Golf Association. It was planned by Lally Segard, at the time known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, from France and Mrs. Henri Prunaret from America. Segard also asked her friends Ricardo and Silvia Espirito Santo, from Portugal, to donate a trophy for the event, which they did. They had originally bought the golden cup, which had belonged to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, for an international Portuguese event that was not played anymore. Vagliano Trophy
The Vagliano Trophy is a biennial women's amateur golf tournament. It is co-organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association and is contested by teams representing "Great Britain and Ireland" and the "Continent of Europe". It is played in odd-numbered years; the Curtis Cup being played in even-numbered years. The event started in 1931 as a match between Great Britain and France. It was played annually from 1931 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1949, before becoming a biennial event from 1949 to 1957. Britain won 15 of the 16 matches with the 1934 match being tied. From 1949 to 1957 Great Britain had also played a biennial match against Belgium. The 1993 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 7–11 July at Royal The Hague Golf & Country Club in Wassenaar, Netherlands. It was the 18th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The course, situated in an undulating dune landscape in Wassenaar, 10 kilometres north of the city center of The Hague, Netherlands, was designed in 1938, by Harry Colt and C.H. Alison. The championship course was set up with par 72. Format All participating teams played two qualification rounds of stroke-play with six players, counted the five best scores for each team.
