The 2020 South and Central American Men's Handball Championship was the first edition of the South and Central American Men's Handball Championship, held from 21 to 25 January 2020 in Brazil. Rodrigo Alonso Salinas Muñoz (born 25 February 1989) is a Chilean handball player for Bidasoa Irún and the Chilean national team. He ranked second in the 2014 Pan American Men's Handball Championship's top goalscorers list. Salinas reached third place with BM Granollers in the 2013/14 season of ASOBAL, being the leading scorer on the team with 128 goals. His brother Esteban Salinas also plays handball. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. The 2018 South American Games was a multi-sport event that took place in Cochabamba, Bolivia. It was the 11th edition of the ODESUR South American Games. A total of 373 sporting events are scheduled to be contested across a variety of sports. Background Bolivia, Venezuela and Peru submitted a bid to ODESUR to become host. The XII South American Games (Spanish: ''XII Juegos Suramericanos Asunción 2022'') was a multi-sport event held between 1–15 October 2022 in Asunción, Paraguay. The Games were organized by the South American Sports Organization, the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, the government of the Republic of Paraguay and the local Secretaria Nacional de Deportes, National Secretary of Sports.
