Esteban González Pons (Valencia, Spain, Valencia, Spain, 21 August 1964) is a Spanish politician of the People's Party (Spain), People's Party (PP) who has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2014. Early life and career Married, and with three children, González Pons gained a doctorate in law and constitutional rights at University of Valencia and practised as a chess player. A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) is a person who has been elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament. Brexit (; a portmanteau of "British exit") was the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU) at 23:00 GMT on 31 January 2020 (00:00 1 February 2020 CET).The UK also left the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom). European People’s Party
The European People's Party (EPP) is a European political party with Christian-democratic, conservative, and liberal conservatism, liberal-conservative member parties. A transnational organisation, it is composed of other political parties. Founded by primarily Christian-democratic parties in 1976, it has since broadened its membership to include liberal conservatism, liberal-conservative parties and parties with other centre-right politics, centre-right political perspectives. Pieter Frans Norbert Jozef Raymond De Crem (; born 22 July 1962) is a Belgian politician and member of Christian Democratic and Flemish (CD&V). He has been a Member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives since 1995. He headed the CD&V fraction in the Chamber of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. Since 1995, he has been the mayor of Aalter in East Flanders. De Crem became the Belgian minister of defense on 21 December 2007. Kai Aslak Mykkänen (born 31 July 1979 in Espoo) is a Finnish politician and the former Minister of the Interior. He represents the National Coalition Party in the Uusimaa electoral district. Early life Mykkänen was born in Espoo to the journalist and politician Jouni Mykkänen and Maria Mykkänen (née Sokolow). European Commissioner
A European Commissioner is a member of the 27-member European Commission. Each member within the Commission holds a specific portfolio. The commission is led by the President of the European Commission. In simple terms they are the equivalent of government ministers. Appointment Commissioners are nominated by member states in consultation with the commission president, who then selects a team of commissioners. This team of nominees are then subject to hearings at the European Parliament, which questions them and then votes on their suitability as a whole. If members of the team are found to be inappropriate, the president must then reshuffle the team or request a new candidate from the member state or risk the whole commission being voted down. European Parliament
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Together with the Council of the European Union (known as the Council and informally as the Council of Ministers), it adopts European legislation, following a proposal by the European Commission.
