Estadio Sierra Nevada
Estadio Sierra Nevada (Spanish: ''Estadio Sierra Nevada'' ) (also known as Estadio Unidad Bolivariana Bureche) is a football stadium in the city of Santa Marta, Colombia. The stadium was opened on 11 November 2017. It was the host stadium for the football matches at the 2017 Bolivarian Games and home stadium for local football club Unión Magdalena starting from 2018. The stadium is designed with a capacity of 16,162 people. Due to delays, the stadium could not be completed by the start of the Bolivarian Games. History Construction The decision to build the new stadium for the city of Santa Marta was made by mayor Rafael Martínez after Colombia won the bid to host the 2017 Bolivarian Games, which is organized by ODEBO. Considering it was better to build a multipurpose scenario rather than remodeling the Eduardo Santos Stadium, since the order to permanently close the Eduardo Santos was due to it presenting precarious safety conditions for those attending. Santa Marta
Santa Marta (), officially Distrito Turístico, Cultural e Histórico de Santa Marta ("Touristic, Cultural and Historic District of Santa Marta"), is a city on the coast of the Caribbean Sea in northern Colombia. Sierra Nevada De Santa Marta
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (English: ''Snow-Covered Mountain Range of Saint Martha'') is an isolated mountain range in northern Colombia, separate from the Andes range that runs through the north of the country. Reaching an elevation of just from the Caribbean coast, the Sierra Nevada is the highest coastal range in the tropics, and one of the highest coastal ranges in the world, being shorter than the Saint Elias Mountains in Canada. The Sierra Nevada encompasses about and serves as the source of 36 rivers. Jaguares De Córdoba
Jaguares de Córdoba is a professional Colombian football team based in Montería, that plays in the Categoría Primera A. They play their home games at the Jaraguay stadium. History The team was created on December 5, 2012 at a meeting held by team president Nelson Soto Duque, the mayor of Montería, and the governor of Córdoba. In an initiative led by the Montería city hall and the Córdoba government, with support from local companies, an agreement was reached with the direction to move Sucre F.C. from Sincelejo to Montería from 2013 under the name Jaguares de Córdoba. Categoría Primera B, commonly referred to as Torneo BetPlay Dimayor due to sponsorship by online betting company BetPlay (formerly ''Torneo Águila''), is the second-division football league in Colombia. Format DIMAYOR has applied a new format from 2015 onwards because of the expansion to 20 teams in the Primera A tournament. The league will no longer have Apertura and Finalización seasons but rather a yearlong tournament with home and away games. The first phase of the tournament is everyone against everyone home and away games. The second is a two-groups phase with the 8 top teams from the season who play each other to determine the winners of each group. Estadio Eduardo Santos is a multi-use stadium in Santa Marta, Colombia, used mostly for football matches. It is the largest sports facility in Magdalena Department with a maximum capacity of 23,000 people. The stadium is named after politician and publisher Eduardo Santos, President of the Republic of Colombia from 1938 to 1942. Unión Magdalena Since its opening in 1951, Estadio Eduardo Santos has been home to the football club Unión Magdalena, and witnessed the birth of prominent figures of Colombian football, including former captain Colombia Carlos ' El pibe' ('The Kid') Valderrama.
