Estadio Antonio Toledo Valle
Estadio Antonio Toledo Valle is a multi-use stadium in Zacatecoluca, El Salvador. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of C.D. Platense Municipal Zacatecoluca. The stadium currently has a capacity of 10,000 people. It was built in 1974, on orders of then president of El Salvador Arturo Armando Molina. The stadium is named after Antonio Toledo Valle, a native footballer from the region who went on to play for C.D. El Salvador (; , meaning " The Saviour"), officially the Republic of El Salvador ( es, República de El Salvador), is a country in Central America. Zacatecoluca () is the capital municipality of the La Paz Department of El Salvador. Located in Southern El Salvador, in the Rio Lempa valley, at the foot of San Vicente (Chinchotepec) Volcano. A commercial center for the surrounding agricultural area, it also trades in cotton goods, baskets, salt, and lumber. History An earthquake in 1932 caused severe damage. Zacatecoluca was the birthplace of José Simeón Cañas, who fought for and secured the emancipation of slaves in Central America by Spaniards in 1825. Colonel Arturo Armando Molina Barraza (6 August 1927 – 18 July 2021) was a Salvadoran politician and military officer, who served as President of El Salvador from 1972 to 1977. He was born in San Salvador. He served between 1 July 1972 and 1 July 1977. The 1973 oil crisis led to rising food prices and decreased agricultural output. This worsened the existent socioeconomic inequality in the country, leading to increased unrest.
