Espot
Espot is a Municipalities of Catalonia, municipality in the ''Comarques of Catalonia, comarca'' of the Pallars Sobirà in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the Espot Valley, east of the river Noguera Pallaresa. The municipality is one of the entrances to the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. Espot has been mentioned in documents dating back to the year 839. Economy The economy of the municipality is largely based on tourism, thanks to the ski resort Espot Esquí and an increase in rural tourism. The area also depends on the milk industry and cattle ranching, specifically Bovinae, bovines. There are various Hydroelectricity, hydroelectric power stations in the area including Sant Maurici, Lladres and Espot. Espot Esquí
Espot Esquí is a ski resort located in Espot, in the Catalonia, Catalan Pyrenees, opened in 1967. The ski area extends from 1,500 to 2,500 metres. It's one of the ways of entry in the Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, and is near an area with many lakes of glacial origin, the trails facing the northeast are surrounded by a forest. Aigüestortes I Estany De Sant Maurici National Park
''Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici'' National Park ( ca, Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici, es, Parque Nacional de Aiguas Tortas y Lago de San Mauricio), is one of the fifteen Spanish national parks, and the only one located in Catalonia. A wild mountain region in the Pyrenees, with peaks rising to 3017 m (Besiberri Sud) and with nearly 200 lakes, many of them of glacial origin, the park comprises a core area of 141 km2 and a buffer zone of 267 km2 surrounding the park. The park's name in Catalan is ''Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici'', freely translated as "The winding streams and St. Maurice lake". The park has an elevation range of 1600 to 3000 metres and contains four major vegetation zones: lower montane, upper montane, subalpine and alpine. Pallars Sobirà
Pallars Sobirà () is a comarca (comparable to a county or shire in much of the English-speaking world) in the mountainous northwest of Catalonia, Spain. The name means "Upper Pallars", distinguishing it from the more populous (and less mountainous) Pallars Jussà to its southwest. Its capital and largest municipality is Sort. Located in the central Pyrenees, Pallars Sobirà stretches from south to north, starting at the gorge of Collegats to the village of Alós d'Isil, following the course of the river Noguera Pallaresa. It is the fourth biggest comarca in Catalonia in terms of surface area, and has one of the lowest densities of population in the country, about 5.1 inhabitants per km². Naut Aran
Naut Aran () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Val d'Aran in Catalonia, Spain. It is the second largest municipality in Catalonia in terms of surface area (225.8 km², behind Tremp), and was created in 1967 by the merger of the municipalities of Arties, Salardú, Gessa, Tredòs and Bagergue: the former municipalities retain some privileges as "decentralised municipal entities" (''entitats municipals descentralitzades'', EMD). Vall De Boí
The Vall de Boí () is a narrow, steep-sided valley and a small municipality in the province of Lleida, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, northern Spain. It lies in the northeastern corner of the comarca of Alta Ribagorça, on the edges of the Pyrenees. It is the largest municipality of the region, with its main town being Barruera. The valley is best known for its nine Early Romanesque churches, making it the site of the densest concentration of Romanesque architecture in Europe.
