Esporte Clube São Bernardo, commonly known as EC São Bernardo, Esporte Clube, or Esporte, is a professional football club based in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil, that plays in the Campeonato Paulista Série A3, the third tier of the São Paulo state league. They were founded in 1928, being the oldest active football club in the ABC Region. They also were the first basketball club in the city (achieving great prominence), as well as in volleyball and futsal. Despite being based in one of the richest and most populous cities in São Paulo, the club has never been successful at the state level, having spent most of its years in the lower divisions of the Campeonato Paulista and has yet to qualify for any national division. Estádio 1.º de Maio is a Association football, football stadium in the centre of São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, which is the home of São Bernardo Futebol Clube, São Bernardo. With a capacity of 15,159 it is the second-largest football stadium in the ABC Region, ABC region, behind Estádio Anacleto Campanella. Currently the capacity is limited to 12,578 since part of the South Stand is closed for renovation. Futsal
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. The surface, ball and rules favour ball control and passing in small spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996.
