Espinosa, Minas Gerais
Espinosa is a municipality in the north of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Its population was 32,151 (2015) and its area is 1,869 km². The elevation is 572 meters. The municipality contains part of the Caminho dos Gerais State Park, created in 2007. Espinosa belongs to the IBGE microregion of Janaúba. It is connected to that city by BR-122. It is a short distance south of the boundary with the state of Bahia. The main economic activities are cattle raising, small transformation industries, and agriculture. In 2006, there were 32,000 head of cattle. The main agricultural crops were cotton, sugarcane, corn, and sorghum. In 2007 there were two financial institutions. The GDP (2005)was R$ 84,238,000. There was one hospital with 32 beds (2005). There were 1,485 automobiles in 2007, a ratio of one automobile for every 21 inhabitants. Espinosa De Los Monteros
Espinosa de los Monteros is a municipality located in the province of Burgos, Castile and León, Spain, with a population of c. 2,100 inhabitants. The village is spread over a large rural area at the southern outskirts of a mountainous area of the Cantabrian Mountains. History First settlements in the area date from the Bronze and Iron Age, but its modern settling and location officially started with the town charter given by Alfonso VI of León to repopulate it after its war destruction during the early 11th century. It is home to the ancient Royal Guard of the "Gentlemen of the Chamber" since its founding in 1008 by Sancho García of Castile of the early local counts dynasty. Espinosa is a barrio in the municipality of Dorado, Puerto Rico. Its population in 2010 was 4,534. The Battle of Espinosa de los Monteros was a battle of the Napoleonic Wars, fought on 10 and 11 November 1808 at the township of Espinosa de los Monteros in the Cantabrian Mountains. It resulted in a French victory under General Victor against Lieutenant General Joaquín Blake's Army of Galicia. Background Napoleon's invasion of Spain had started with the Battle of Zornoza. Battle Victor launched a series of attacks on the first day that were thrown back with heavy losses by the disciplined regulars of General La Romana's Division of the North. By nightfall, Blake's positions still held. On the morning of 11 November, Victor regained his composure and coordinated a massive French attack that pierced Blake's left wing and drove the Spaniards from the field. The Luisa Amanda Espinoza Association of Nicaraguan Women ( es, italic=no, Asociación de Mujeres Nicaragüenes Luisa Amanda Espinoza, AMNLAE) was initially established in 1977 under the name Association of Women Concerned about National Crisis (, AMPRONAC). AMPRONAC was part of the Sandinista (FSLN) network which was set on bringing down the Anastasio Somoza Debayle regime in 1979.
