Esperanza, Masbate
Esperanza, officially the Municipality of Esperanza, is a 5th class municipality in the province of Masbate, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 17,534 people. About 60% of the population lives along the coastline, most of whom are fishermen. It is about 4 hours travel south of Masbate City with some roads and highways still undeveloped. Esperanza has several beaches, among them Gamay Na Baybay Beach, Talisay (Punta) Beach and Manok Manok Beach. Esperanza is a predominantly Cebuano speaking municipality, with a majority of its settlers tracing their ancestries from northern Cebu, particularly from Bogo. Esperanza is one of the four municipalities which are predominantly Cebuano speaking in the province of Masbate. Bogo, Cebu
Bogo, officially the City of Bogo ( ceb, Dakbayan sa Bogo; fil, Lungsod ng Bogo), is a 6th class component city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 88,867 people. The plebiscite for the cityhood of Bogo was held on June 16, 2007, in which 97.82% of voters of Bogo voted for cityhood. Former representative Clavel Asas-Martinez announced that the cityhood of Bogo has been ratified. It became the sixth component city of Cebu province. Masbate City, officially the City of Masbate ( Masbateño: ''Syudad san Masbate''; fil, Lungsod ng Masbate), is a 4th class component city and capital of the province of Masbate, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 104,522 people. As the only city in the province, Masbate City serves as the province's main commercial center and chief seaport. The city is more or less situated at the center of Masbate province and Masbate Island, about 212 aerial miles and 362 nautical miles from Manila.
