Esneux
Esneux (; wa, Esneu) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 Esneux had a total population of 13,072. The total area is which gives a population density of 384 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Esneux and Tilff. Other villages are Méry and Hony. They are all to be found in the valley of the Ourthe river south of Liège. A railway line links the 4 villages (and then continues further south to Luxembourg). Although not popular with large numbers of international tourists, Esneux and Tilff do attract people from the local region, due to the local restaurants, the Esneux and Tilff castle, the bee-museum, and several parks. In Esneux, the largest giant sequoia of Belgium can be found. Ourthe
The Ourthe (; Walloon: ''Aiwe d' Oûte'') is a long river in the Ardennes in Wallonia (Belgium). It is a right tributary to the river Meuse. The Ourthe is formed at the confluence of the ''Ourthe Occidentale'' (Western Ourthe) and the ''Ourthe Orientale'' (Eastern Ourthe), west of Houffalize. The source of the ''Ourthe Occidentale'' is near Libramont-Chevigny, in the Belgian province Luxembourg. The source of the ''Ourthe Orientale'' is near Gouvy, also in the Belgian province Luxembourg, close to the border with Luxembourg. After the confluence of the two Ourthes at Lake Nisramont, the Ourthe flows roughly in north-west and later in northern direction. Near Noiseux it flows for a short distance through the province of Namur. After the municipality of Durbuy it flows into Liège Province. Eventually it flows into the river Meuse in the city of Liège. Léontine De Maësen
Léontine de Maësen (15 July 1835 – 1906) was a Belgian coloratura soprano active on the opera stages of France from 1858 to 1868. She is most remembered today for having created the role of Leïla in Bizet's 1863 opera, ''Les pêcheurs de perles''. Life and career Born Léontine Van der Maësen d'Avionpuits in Esneux, Belgium, she was the daughter of the crown prosecutor in Verviers. Her father died when she was still a young girl, and after his death she entered the Royal Conservatory of Liège where she studied singing with Théophile Vercken. She then continued her studies at the Paris Conservatory with Laure Cinti-Damoreau and later with Gilbert Duprez. Été 67 (''Summer of 67''; the name is inspired by the 1967 ''Summer of Love'') is a rock band created in 1998 in Esneux (near Liège), Belgium. They generally sing in French, but also do some covers in English (like ''I'm Waiting for the Man'', ''Venus in Furs'' or '' Simple Twist of Fate'', '' Soul of a Man'') and Dutch. They musically sound between The Smiths and Jacques Dutronc, with a singer inspired by Bertrand Cantat of Noir Desir. They are now one of the most popular live acts in French-speaking Belgium. The Belgian label Team for action (distribution "Bang!") released on April 13, 2005 a first untitled EP including the song ''Le quartier de la gare '' which became quite popular on Belgian radios. Seraing
Seraing (; wa, Serè) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Liège, Belgium. The municipality consists of the following districts: Boncelles, Jemeppe-sur-Meuse, Ougrée, and Seraing.
