Esmé Collings
Arthur Albert 'Esme' Collings (1859 – 28 March 1936) was an English photographer, miniaturist and the first of the loose association of early film pioneers dubbed the Brighton School by French film historian Georges Sadoul. Collings, whose interest in cinematography may have stemmed from his business association with fellow film pioneer William Friese-Greene, was only active in film production for about a year, has left little trace and is, according to film historian Rachael Low, of local importance only. Biography Collings was born in Weston-Super-Mare, England sometime late in 1859, with his birth registered in the last quarter of that year. Weston-Super-Mare
Weston-super-Mare, also known simply as Weston, is a seaside town in North Somerset, England. It lies by the Bristol Channel south-west of Bristol between Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill. It includes the suburbs of Mead Vale, Milton, Oldmixon, West Wick, Worlebury, Uphill and Worle. Its population at the 2011 census was 76,143. Since 1983, Weston has been twinned with Hildesheim in Germany. The local area has been occupied since the Iron Age. It was still a small village until the 19th century when it developed as a seaside resort. A railway station and two piers were built. In the second half of the 20th century it was connected to the M5 motorway but the number of people holidaying in the town declined and some local industries closed, although the number of day visitors has risen. George Albert Smith (inventor)
George Albert Smith (4 January 1864 – 17 May 1959) was an English stage hypnotist, psychic, magic lantern lecturer, Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, inventor and a key member of the loose association of early film pioneers dubbed the Brighton School by French film historian Georges Sadoul. He is best known for his controversial work with Edmund Gurney at the Society for Psychical Research, his short films from 1897 to 1903, which pioneered film editing and close-ups, and his development of the first successful colour film process, Kinemacolor. Tristram Roger Dymoke Powell'Powell of The Chantry' pedigree, Burke's Peerage website (born 25 April 1940) is an English television and film director, producer and screenwriter. His credits include ''American Friends'', episodes of series five and six of ''Foyle's War'', and adaptations of the novels ''The Ghost Writer'' and ''Falling''. Life Powell was born in Oxford, the elder son of the novelist Anthony Powell and Lady Violet Powell (née Pakenham). His godfather was Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer, the last squire of Felbrigg Hall and a noted biographer. He was educated at Eton College and Trinity College, Oxford. Melvyn Bragg, Baron Bragg, (born 6 October 1939), is an English broadcaster, author and parliamentarian. He is best known for his work with ITV as editor and presenter of ''The South Bank Show'' (1978–2010), and for the BBC Radio 4 documentary series ''In Our Time''. BBC Television

Keturah Anne Collings
Keturah Anne Collings (1862-1948) was a British painter and photographer. Biography Collings née Beedle was born in 1862 in Weston-super-Mare, England. She started her artistic career as a portrait artist and miniaturist. In 1887 she married Arthur Albert Esme Collings (1859-1936). During the late 1900s she assisted her husband at his photography studio in Brighton and Hove before opening her own London photographic studio in the early 1900s. Collings worked creating portraits, both painted and photographic, until her death in 1948 in London. Her work is in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, London (as Keturah Ann Collings) and the Tate Gallery (as Keturah Collings).
