Esmond Moses
Esmond Burdett Moses (born April 22, 1974) is a Micronesian politician from Pohnpei State. Since 2023, he has served as the Speaker of the Congress of the Federated States of Micronesia. He previously served as Vice Speaker of the Congress from 2019 to 2023. Political career Moses first ran for Congress in 2009 in a special election but lost. He was first elected to the Congress of Micronesia in 2015, representing Pohnpei Election District 3. He was elected Vice Speaker of the Congress in 2019. In the 2023 election held on March 7, Moses was elected to Congress for the fifth time and on May 11, he was elected Speaker of the Congress. Wesley Simina
Wesley W. Simina (born September 10, 1961) is a Micronesian politician who has served as the president of the Federated States of Micronesia since 2023. He served as the governor of Chuuk State, one of the four states that constitute the Federated States of Micronesia, from July 2005 to July 2011. Simina was re-elected to a second term as governor of Chuuk in a 2009 runoff election against Gillian N. Doone, the son of former Governor Gideon Doone. He and Lt. Governor Johnson Elimo were sworn into their second terms on July 2, 2009, in an inauguration ceremony held at the Saramen Chuuk Development Center at Saramen Chuuk High School in Weno, Chuuk. The Federated States of Micronesia (; abbreviated FSM) is an island country in Oceania. It consists of four states from west to east, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosraethat are spread across the western Pacific. Pohnpei State (IPA: pɔ:n peɪ) is one of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The other states are, from east to west, Kosrae State, Chuuk State, and Yap State. The state's main island is Pohnpei. History The pre-colonial history of Pohnpei is divided into three stages: Mwehin Kawa or Mwehin Aramas (ca. 1100); Mwehin Sau Deleur (from ca. 1100 to ca. 1628); and Mwehin Nahnmwarki (from ca. 1628 to ca. 1885).
