Esabelle Dingizian
Esabelle Dingizian ( hy, Իզապէլ Տինկիզեան; 16 September 1962) is a Swedish Green Party (Sweden), Green Party politician. She has been a member of the Riksdag since 2006. She served as Third Deputy Speaker of the Riksdag from 2014 to 2018. Early life Dingizian was born in Baghdad, Iraq to Armenians, Armenian parents on 16 September 1962. Her grandmother was a survivor of the Armenian genocide and eventually moved to Iraq. Her family moved to Sweden in 1965 due to her father's career. She grew up in Malmö. Political career Esabelle Dingizian entered politics in the late 1990s. In 1998 she was elected a member of the Botkyrka Municipality council. She became a member of the Riksdag in 2006 as the representative of the Stockholm County Council constituency. Dingizian became a member of the Committee on Cultural Affairs. The Green Party ( sv, Miljöpartiet de gröna, lit=Environmental Party the Greens, commonly referred to in Swedish as Miljöpartiet or MP) is a political party in Sweden based on green politics. . Sparked by the anti-nuclear power movement following the 1980 nuclear power referendum, the party was founded in 1981 out of a discontent with the existing parties' environmental policies. In 1988 general election they won seats in the Swedish Riksdag for the first time, capturing 5.5 percent of the vote, and becoming the first new party to enter parliament in seventy years. Three years later, they dropped back below the 4 percent threshold. In 1994, they returned to parliament again and since have retained representation there. ''Asbarez'' ( hy, Ասպարէզ "Arena") is an Armenian-American bilingual daily newspaper published in Armenian and English in Los Angeles, California, formerly by the Western USA Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. As of late 2020, the newspaper is no longer affiliated with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. History The newspaper began publication in 1908 in Fresno, California. It moved to southern California several decades later when a large Armenian-American community emerged there. Before moving to a new headquarters in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles in the 1970s, the newspaper's headquarters was located in Glendale, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. The daily is published five times a week. It is from 16 to 28 pages, Tuesdays through Fridays and 40 to 48 pages on Saturdays. It also regularly publishes magazine supplements on special occasions.
