Es (film)
''It'' () is a 1966 West German film directed by Ulrich Schamoni and starring Sabine Sinjen and . It was chosen as West Germany's official submission to the 38th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film, but did not manage to receive a nomination. It was also entered into the 1966 Cannes Film Festival. Plot The film tells the story of a young couple, a real estate agent and an architectural draughtswoman, and the marriage crisis resulting from a concealed pregnancy and abortion. Ulrich Schamoni
Ulrich Schamoni (9 November 1939 – 9 March 1998) was a German film director, screenwriter, actor and media proprietor. Biography Schamoni began his career as an assistant director, among others for William Dieterle. He was a signatory of the Oberhausen Manifesto in 1962. His first feature film, '' It'' (1966), won five German Film Awards. His 1967 film '' Next Year, Same Time'' won the Silver Bear Extraordinary Jury Prize at the 17th Berlin International Film Festival. He was the brother of Peter Schamoni, also a film director and producer. Ulrich Schamoni died on the March 9, 1998 in Berlin as a result of a cancer illness and was buried at the Waldfriedhof Zehlendorf Waldfriedhof Zehlendorf (Zehlendorf forest cemetery) is a cemetery located in Berlin's Nikolassee district. Ernst Gerhard Ludwig Jacobi-Scherbening, professionally called Ernst Jacobi (; 11 July 1933 – 23 June 2022), was a German actor. He was known for serious character roles, especially in the 1979 film ''The Tin Drum (film), The Tin Drum'' (''Die Blechtrommel''), as Hans in ''Germany, Pale Mother'' (1980), as Adolf Hitler in ''Hamsun (film), Hamsun'' (1996), and as the narrator in ''The White Ribbon'' (2009). Tilla Durieux (born Ottilie Godeffroy; 18 August 1880 – 21 February 1971) was an Austrian theatre and film actress of the first decades of the 20th century. Early Years Born Ottilie Helene Angela Godeffroy on 18 August 1880, she was the daughter of the Austrian chemist Richard Max Victor Godeffroy (1847–1895) and his wife, the Hungarian pianist Adelheid Ottilie Augustine Godeffroy (née Hrdlicka, died 1920), who was born in Romania. After graduating from elementary school, she switched to the public school in Vienna's 9th district. She was baptized in the evangelical parish Augsburg Confession in Vienna. Werner Schwier
Werner Schwier (born 28 May 1921 in Stadthagen; died 3 May 1982 in Munich) was a German actor, voice actor, and television presenter. Career Werner Schwier made a name for himself in silent films on German television. On 14 May 1961 to September 1965, he presented 65 episodes of Hessischer Rundfunk and produced the series ''Es darf gelacht werden'' (It is permitted to laugh). The show was a 45 minutes long evening program of the ARD. During the broadcast, three complete short films would be shown. He also had two silent film stars on the show as guests, Buster Keaton in 1962 and Harold Lloyd in 1963. In the manner of a small film show of the times of the silent films, Schwier presented in a checkered suit, assisted by Konrad Elfers on the Piano and Géza Janós on violin.
