	Erzin, Turkey Erzin, also known as Yeşilkent, is a city in the province of Hatay, on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The mayor is Ökkeş Elmasoğlu ( CHP). Geography Erzin is on the west-facing flanks of the Nur Mountains and runs down to the Gulf of İskenderun on the Mediterranean coast. The climate is warm and wet in winter, hot and extremely humid in summer, when most people retreat further up into the pine-covered hills, or to the beach. Erzin is an attractive district well known for its high-quality citrus fruits, the major economic activity of the district. Grains and vegetables are also grown, especially since irrigation works were built in the 1960s. Today 65,000 m2 are planted with grains and another 65,000 m2 with all kind of citrus fruits including Navel orange, grapefruit and tangerines. picture info	Erzincan Erzincan (; ku, Erzîngan), historically Yerznka ( hy, Երզնկա), is the capital of Erzincan Province in Eastern Turkey. Nearby cities include Erzurum, Sivas, Tunceli, Bingöl, Elazığ, Malatya, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, and Giresun. The city is majority Sunni Turkish with a significant Alevi Kurdish minority. History Acilisene, the ancient city that is now Erzincan, was the site of the Peace of Acilisene by which in AD 387 Armenia was divided into two vassal states, a smaller one dependent on the Byzantine Empire and a larger one dependent on Persia. This is the name (Ἀκιλισηνή in Greek) by which it is called by Strabo in his ''Geography'', 11.4.14. The etymological origin of the word is disputed, but it is agreed that the city was once called Erez. For a while it was called Justinianopolis in honour of Emperor Justinian.
