Ernie Zeigler
Ernest Franklin Zeigler II (born January 31, 1966) is an American college basketball coach, currently an assistant at the University of Nebraska. He spent the previous eight seasons as an assistant coach at Mississippi State, and prior to that was the men's head coach at Central Michigan University. He received a Bachelor's in Business Management from Cleary College in 1994. He played collegiately at Schoolcraft College (1984–86), Armstrong Atlantic State University (1986–87) and Northwood University (1987–88). Zeigler has also coached in China, Saudi Arabia, at Kansas State, Bowling Green and at Detroit Cody High School before serving on Ben Howland's staff at Pittsburgh and at UCLA. Zeigler left UCLA to take on the head coaching job at Central Michigan where his son, Trey Zeigler, played for him. Nebraska Cornhuskers Men's Basketball
The Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I. The program's first year of competition was 1897, and NU has since compiled an all-time record of 1,535–1,417, with seven NCAA tournament and sixteen NIT appearances. The team has been coached by Fred Hoiberg since 2019. Nebraska did not make the NCAA Tournament until 1986 and remains the only major-conference program to have never won a tournament game. Prior to the creation of the NCAA Tournament, Nebraska was a Midwest power under head coaches R. G. Clapp and Ewald O. Stiehm; the retroactive Premo-Porretta Power Poll ranked the Cornhuskers in the top ten three times between 1897 and 1903. In United States colleges, top-tier basketball is governed by collegiate athletic bodies including National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). 2009–10 Central Michigan Chippewas Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Central Michigan Chippewas basketball team will represent Central Michigan University in the college basketball season of 2009–10. The team is coached by Ernie Zeigler and will play their homes game in Rose Arena. Before the season Roster Changes The Chippewas lost two starters from their 2008–09 season. Marcus Van, who last year led the team with 13.0 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game, graduated. The other starter, Jacolby Hardiman was convicted of a high-court misdemeanor and later transferred to Robert Morris University. Hardiman was responsible for 9.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. The Chippewas also lost six other starters, which included one senior, two sophomores, and three freshmen. To replace them, the Chippewas are adding five players to their roster. Mid-American Conference
The Mid-American Conference (MAC) is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I collegiate athletic conference with a membership base in the Great Lakes region that stretches from Western New York to Illinois. Benjamin Clark Howland (born May 28, 1957) is an American college basketball coach who most recently served as the men's head coach at Mississippi State University from to 2015 to 2022. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Northern Arizona University from 1994 to 1999, the University of Pittsburgh from 1999 to 2003, and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 2003 to 2013. Howland became the first men's coach in modern college basketball history to be fired shortly after winning an outright power-conference title. Cleary University is a private university focused on business education with its main campus in Livingston County, Michigan. It also has an education center located in Detroit.
