Ernie Walley
Ernie Walley (born 7 April 1933 in Caernarfon) is a retired association football player, manager and coach. Playing career Walley joined Tottenham Hotspur as a junior in May 1951, making five league appearances as a wing half before moving to Middlesbrough in 1958. After eight appearances for Middlesbrough he moved again to Crystal Palace, but failed to make a first team appearance before moving to Gravesend & Northfleet and subsequently Stevenage Borough. Coaching and managerial career After retiring as a player Walley spent eight years as a coach at Arsenal before joining Crystal Palace in the same capacity in 1967. He became caretaker manager of Crystal Palace for six matches following the departure of Terry Venables in 1980. After the appointments of Malcolm Allison and subsequently Dario Gradi, Walley continued as a coach at Crystal Palace. Caernarfon
Caernarfon (; ) is a royal town, community and port in Gwynedd, Wales, with a population of 9,852 (with Caeathro). It lies along the A487 road, on the eastern shore of the Menai Strait, opposite the Isle of Anglesey. The city of Bangor is to the north-east, while Snowdonia fringes Caernarfon to the east and south-east. Carnarvon and Caernarvon are Anglicised spellings that were superseded in 1926 and 1974 respectively. John Hollins
John William Hollins (born 16 July 1946) is an English retired footballer and manager. He was initially a midfielder who, later in his career, became an effective full-back. Hollins, throughout his footballing career, featured for clubs such as Chelsea, Queens Park Rangers, and Arsenal. Hollins made 714 First Division appearances, an English top division record for an outfield player and second only to goalkeeper Peter Shilton. Tom Walley
John Thomas Walley (born 27 February 1945) is a Welsh former footballer, who played as a wing half. Playing career Walley was born in Caernarfon and educated at Ysgol Segontium, named after the town's Roman fort. At the age of 14, he underwent a neck operation which prevented him playing football for almost three years. In March 1963, he joined Caernarfon Town playing in the Welsh League (North); after only a handful of games, he briefly joined Wrexham in the spring of 1964, but returned to Caernarfon in August, before (on the recommendation of his elder brother Ernie, who was a former Spurs player) joining English side Arsenal in December 1964 for a fee of £1,000. He played for Arsenal 18 times—4 of those appearances as a substitute—and scored once, as well as playing for the Wales under-23 national team, before transferring to Watford in March 1967 for £9,500. Watford () is a town and borough in Hertfordshire, England, 15 miles northwest of Central London, on the River Colne. Initially a small market town, the Grand Junction Canal encouraged the construction of paper-making mills, print works, and breweries. While industry has declined in Watford, its location near London and transport links has attracted several companies to site their headquarters in the town. Steve Harrison (footballer)
Steven John Harrison (born 26 December 1952) is an English former professional footballer, manager and coach. As a player, he played as a full-back for Blackpool (his hometown club), Vancouver Whitecaps, Watford and Charlton Athletic. Following his retirement, as a manager and coach he worked at Watford, Millwall, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Preston North End and Aston Villa, as well as working with the England national football team under Graham Taylor. He moved to Middlesrough in 2001 following the appointment of Steve McClaren and in 2003 he was appointed as the team's defensive coach.
