Ernie Fields, Jr.
Ernie Fields Jr. is a baritone saxophonist and session musician. Son of notable musician Ernie Fields, he has worked with blues, soul and funk artists including B. B. King, Bobby Bland, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Rick James, and Marvin Gaye. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1951 and then attended Howard University, playing with his father's band during breaks. In the 1990s he began touring with trombonist Fred Wesley, playing bagpipes as well as saxophone. He wrote the score for the 1978 film ''Disco Godfather''. On April 6, 2010 episode of ''American Idol'', Fields played the didgeridoo during Crystal Bowersox's performance of the Lennon and McCartney composition "Come Together". Didgeridoo
The didgeridoo (; also spelt didjeridu, among other variants) is a wind instrument, played with vibrating lips to produce a continuous drone while using a special breathing technique called circular breathing. The didgeridoo was developed by Aboriginal peoples of northern Australia at least 1,000 years ago, and is now in use around the world, though still most strongly associated with Indigenous Australian music. In the Yolŋu languages of the indigenous people of northeast Arnhem Land the name for the instrument is the ''yiḏaki'', or more recently by some, ''mandapul''. ''One Kind Favor'' is B.B. King's 42nd and final studio album. Produced by T Bone Burnett, it was released on August 26, 2008 by Geffen Records. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album at the 51st Grammy Awards. Reception ''Rolling Stone'' called it "one of the strongest studio sets of his career, standing alongside classics such as ''Singin' the Blues'' and '' Lucille''." Both ''Rolling Stone'' and AllMusic commented on the stripped down sound and lack of guest appearances which was departure in style from King's recent previous albums. ''Conversation Peace'' is the 22nd album released by American musician Stevie Wonder, on the Motown label in 1995. The album was Wonder's first full-length non-soundtrack studio album since 1987's ''Characters''. This album yielded the hits "For Your Love" (a Grammy winner for Wonder for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance) and the reggae-flavored "Tomorrow Robins Will Sing". This album also saw Wonder reuniting with Robert Margouleff, who assisted during Wonder's "classic period" from 1972 to 1974. Wonder wrote about 40 songs in 1993 after being invited to stay for six weeks in Ghana by President Jerry John Rawlings. A number of these songs were eventually shaped into album form. Mary Christine Brockert (March 5, 1956 – December 26, 2010), known professionally as Teena Marie, was an American singer-songwriter, musician, composer, arranger, and producer. She was known by her childhood nickname Tina before taking the stage name Teena Marie and later acquired the nickname Lady T, given to her by her collaborator and friend, Rick James. She was known for her distinctive soprano vocals, which caused many listeners to believe she was black. It features significant contributions from Rick James who produced and wrote the bulk of material as well as providing co-vocals on "I'm a Sucker for Your Love". ''Wild and Peaceful'' peaked at #18 on the Black Albums chart and #94 on the Billboard 200, Billboard Albums chart. The lead single "I'm a Sucker for Your Love" reached #8 on the US Black Singles chart and #43 in the UK, and was followed by a cover version of "Don't Look Back (The Temptations song), Don't Look Back" originally recorded by The Temptations.
