Ernie Ernst
Erwin "Ernie" Goree Ernst (July 27, 1924 – July 24, 2013) was an American assistant district attorney, and district judge for Walker County, Texas, Walker County, Texas. During a legal career spanning six decades, Ernst presided over several notable criminal cases, including the 1971 murder trial of John Hill (physician), John Hill, a Houston-based cosmetic surgeon who was accused of killing his wife. Harris County, Texas
Harris County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas; as of the 2020 census, the population was 4,731,145, making it the most populous county in Texas and the third most populous county in the United States. Joan Robinson Hill
Joan Olive Robinson Hill (February 6, 1931 – March 19, 1969) was a socialite and equestrian from Houston, Texas. Her unexplained death at age 38 led to her husband, John Hill, becoming the first person to be indicted by the state of Texas on the charge of murder by omission. The case precipitated a series of events that included the 1972 murder of John Hill and, two years later, the fatal police shooting of the man accused of that murder. Adopted as an infant by wealthy oil tycoon Davis Ashton "Ash" Robinson and his wife, Rhea, Joan became an equestrian at a young age. She excelled and continued the sport into adulthood, ultimately winning several national titles. After two youthful marriages that ended in divorce, Joan married plastic surgeon John Hill in 1957. Walker County, Texas
Walker County is a county located in the east central section of the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 76,400. Its county seat is Huntsville. Initially, Walker County was named for Robert J. Walker, a legislator from Mississippi who introduced into the United States Congress the resolution to annex Texas. Walker later supported the U.S. during its Civil War and earned some enmity for it. In order to keep the county's name, the state renamed it for Samuel H.
