Ernie And Erica Wisner
Ernie and Erica Wisner are a couple from Tonasket, Washington, United States, best known for their innovative rocket mass heater designs. They are often referred to as the worldwide leaders and trainers in rocket stove technology. They have made over 700 rocket stoves all over the world. Background The Wisners were introduced to this type of work when Ernie apprenticed with Ianto Evans for two years. Evans, of Cob Cottage Co., was the designer who originally developed this type of technology 30 years ago. Erica and Ernie initially planned to share information about all different types of natural building, but their fans demanded otherwise. People wanted to be taught how to build rocket mass heaters and custom cob rocket stoves. Ianto Evans
Ianto Evans is a Welsh applied ecologist, landscape architect, inventor, writer, social critic, and teacher. He is known for his work building, writing and teaching about natural building, cob and high-efficiency solid-fuel stoves, ovens and heaters. Career Originally from Wales, Evans attended architecture school in the 1960s."Made in Mud." A natural building involves a range of building systems and materials that place major emphasis on sustainability. Appropriate technology is a movement (and its manifestations) encompassing technological choice and application that is small-scale, affordable by locals, decentralized, labor-intensive, energy-efficient, environmentally sustainable, and locally autonomous. David Michael Oehler (; January 2, 1938 February 2, 2016) was an American environmentalist and author. He was a proponent and designer of affordable and sustainable alternative forms of housing. He became well known for his appearances in episodes of Louis Theroux's BBC documentary series '' Weird Weekends'' (1998). Early life David Michael Oehler was born in Chicago on January 2, 1938, the son of Polly and Chet Oehler. He grew up in nearby Wilmette and had three sisters named Patricia, Gretchen, and Sioux.
