Ernest Riedel
Ernest W. Riedel (July 13, 1901 – March 26, 1983) was an American Canoe racing, sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1930s to the late 1940s. Competing in two Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the K-1 10000 m event at Berlin in 1936 Summer Olympics, 1936. He was associated with the Pendleton Canoe Club of New York. A native of New York City, he died in Miami-Dade County, Florida, Dade County, Florida. The 1936 Summer Olympics (German: ''Olympische Sommerspiele 1936''), officially known as the Games of the XI Olympiad (German: ''Spiele der XI. Olympiade'') and commonly known as Berlin 1936 or the Nazi Olympics, were an international multi-sport event held from 1 to 16 August 1936 in Berlin, Germany. Berlin won the bid to host the Games over Barcelona at the 29th IOC Session on 26 April 1931.
