Ernest Gaewu
Ernest Yao Gaewu (born on 18 February 1969) is a Ghanaian lawyer and judge who is in active service at the Supreme Court of Ghana. Early life and education Gaewu was born in Ho, but hails from Abotia in the Ho West District of the Volta Region. He attended Awudome Senior High School for his Ordinary Level education and Mawuli School for his Advanced Level education. He then proceeded to the University of Ghana in 1995 to study law. After completing his law degree, he attended the Ghana School of Law and was called to the bar in 2000. Career After completing his legal education, Gaewu worked at Mawulorm Chambers in the Volta Region under the leadership of Justice Jones Dotse. In 2009, he became the head of the chamber. From 2012 to 2015, he served as the assistant secretary and then secretary of the Volta Bar, as well as a member of the National Council of the Ghana Bar Association. Ho Polytechnic
Ho Technical University, formerly Ho Polytechnic, is a public tertiary institution in the Volta Region of Ghana. The Polytechnic started in 1968 as a technical institute with the primary goal of providing pre-technical education. By 1972, the Institute made tremendous progress and upgraded its courses. In 1986, the institution was upgraded into a Polytechnic. List Of Judges Of The Supreme Court Of Ghana
This is a list of the judges of the Supreme Court of Ghana. The Constitution of Ghana provides for the court to be made up of the Chief Justice of Ghana and not less than nine other Justices of the Supreme Court. It shall be duly constituted by at least five Supreme Court judges. Appointment of judges Article 144 clause 1 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana stipulates that the Chief Justice of Ghana is to be appointed by the President of Ghana acting in consultation with the Council of State and with the approval of the Parliament of Ghana. Council Of State (Ghana)
The Council of State in Ghana is a small body of prominent citizens, analogous to the Council of Elders in the traditional political system, which advises the President on national issues. The Council of State was established by Articles 89 to 92 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana: "There shall be a Council of State to counsel the President in the performance of his functions." Membership The Council of State should include a former Chief Justice of Ghana, a former Chief of the Defence Staff and a former Inspector General of Police and the President of the National House of Chiefs. Samuel Kwame Adibu Asiedu is a Ghanaian jurist. He is an active Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana. Early life and education Asiedu was born on 9 April 1966 in Accra. Asiedu attended Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Primary School in Koforidua, Kaneshie North 3 and 4 Local Authority Primary School, Methodist Primary School in Mangoase, and Universal Academy Preparatory School in Bubuashie, from which he graduated in 1979. Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu
Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu is a Ghanaian judge. She is an active Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana. She has been on the bench in Ghana since 2003 and was appointed a Supreme Court judge in 2022. Early life and education Ackah-Yensu was born on 2 February 1955 in Cape Coast. George Kingsley Koomson
George Kingsley Koomson is a Ghanaian judge who serves as an active justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana. Early life and education Koomson was born in May 1962 in Agona Nyakrom in the Central Region of Ghana. He received his primary and middle school education at the Assin Fosu DC school and later attended Winneba Senior High School from 1976 to 1981 for his O Levels. He then proceeded to St. Augustine's College, Cape Coast from 1981 to 1983 for his A Levels.
