Institute for Armenian Research (Ermeni Araştırmaları Enstitüsü; EREN;ERAREN) was a privately funded think tank sub-working group in Turkey established in April 2001 by the Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies. Ömer Engin Lütem was the chairman of ERAREN. In 2009, ERAREN was dissolved. It decided to carry out its activities as Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM). Ömer Engin Lütem
Ömer Engin Lütem, (1933, Istanbul, Turkey - 6 January 2018) was a Turkish writer, diplomat, researcher and lecturer. Life Education Ambassador Ömer Engin Lütem graduated from Galatasaray High School, then studied Political Sciences at Ankara University in 1957 and started his career as a diplomat in the same year. Ministry of Foreign Affairs He held different positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during his service. Some of his duties included Consul General at Cologne, Germany between 1975 and 1979, Director General of Intelligence and Research from 1981 until 1983. Genocide Studies
Genocide studies is an academic field of study that researches genocide. Genocide became a field of study in the mid-1940s, with the work of Raphael Lemkin, who coined ''genocide'' and started genocide research, and its primary subjects were the Armenian genocide and the Holocaust; the Holocaust was the primary subject matter of genocide studies, starting off as a side field of Holocaust studies, and the field received an extra impetus in the 1990s, when the Rwandan genocide occurred. It received further attraction in the 2010s through the formation of a gender field. It is a complex field which has a lack of consensus on definition principles and has had a complex relationship with mainstream political science; it has enjoyed renewed research and interest in the last decades of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century. Center For Eurasian Studies
Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) was founded on 2 January 2009. History The Center for Eurasian Strategic Studies ( ASAM) which was established at the end of the 1990s in Ankara ceased its operations in 2008. Institute for Armenian Research ( Ermeni Araştırmaları Enstitüsü) ( ERAREN), a sub-working group of ASAM, continued its studies for a while. In 2009, ERAREN decided to carry out its activities as Center for Eurasian Studies (AVİM) within the Turkmeneli Cooperation and Culture Foundation in Ankara. After establishment of AVİM, in addition to the main field of study of ERAREN, AVİM has expanded its field of study by making studies on the Eurasian Region. Research Studies at AVİM are carried out by 12 research assistants.
