Erin Louise Thompson is an Australian politician. She has been a Australian Labor Party (South Australian Branch), Labor member of the South Australian House of Assembly since the 2022 South Australian state election, 2022 state election, representing Electoral district of Davenport, Davenport. She replaced the Liberal politician, Steve Murray (politician), Steve Murray, who had held the seat since 2018. Prior to her preselection, Thompson had served as elected mayor of the City of Onkaparinga, taking leave of absence to campaign for Davenport. The Australian Labor Party (South Australian Branch), commonly known as South Australian Labor, is the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party, originally formed in 1891 as the United Labor Party of South Australia. Stephen Peter Murray (born 5 February 1963) is an Australian politician who represented the South Australian House of Assembly seat of Davenport for the Liberal Party from the 2018 state election until 2022. Davenport is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It is named after nineteenth-century pioneer and politician Sir Samuel Davenport. Davenport is a 57.7 km² electorate covering part of outer suburban Adelaide and the southern foothills of the Adelaide Hills. It takes in the suburbs of Aberfoyle Park, Bedford Park, Bellevue Heights, Chandlers Hill, Cherry Gardens, and Flagstaff Hill; and part of Happy Valley. The 2022 South Australian state election was held on 19 March 2022 to elect members to the 55th Parliament of South Australia. All 47 seats in the House of Assembly (the lower house, whose members were elected at the 2018 election), and half the seats in the Legislative Council (the upper house, last filled at the 2014 election) were up for re-election. The one-term incumbent minority Liberal government, led by Premier Steven Marshall, was defeated by the opposition Labor Party, led by Opposition Leader Peter Malinauskas, in a landslide. The City of Onkaparinga () is a local government area (LGA) located on the southern fringe of Adelaide, South Australia.
