Erik W. Jakobsen
Erik Werner Jakobsen (born 1967) is a business economist with a PhD in economics from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen. Erik is partner and chair of the board in Menon Economics, a research-based consultancy with approx. 75 economists qualified at MSc and PhD-level. From 2009 to 2018, Erik held a part-time position as professor in strategic management at University College of South-East Norway. Earlier, Erik has been the leader of BI Norwegian Business School, BI Norwegian Business School's Centre for Value Creation and project manager for the research project A value-creating Norway (Et verdiskapende Norge). The Norwegian School of Economics ( no, Norges Handelshøyskole) or NHH is a business school situated in Bergen, Norway. It was founded in 1936 as Norway's first business school and is a leading teaching and research institution in the fields of economics and business administration. Admission to NHH is the most selective in the field of business administration in Norway and among the most selective of all study programs offered in Norway. The sole NHH undergraduate program consistently ranks among the most popular first choice for students applying for undergraduate study in Norway. BI Norwegian Business School () is the largest business school in Norway and the second largest in all of Europe. BI has in total four campuses with the main one located in Oslo. The university has 845 employees consisting of an academic staff of 404 people and 441 administrative staff. In 2015, BI Norwegian Business School had 18,728 students.
