Erik Sagström
Erik Sagström (born in Linköping in 1983) is a Swedish professional poker player. Sagström was introduced to poker accidentally while surfing the web. He began to play at ParadisePoker at the age of 17 and has since become a successful online poker player. Sagström plays online poker at numerous sites as ''The Salmon'', ''Erik123'', and ''DIN_FRU''. Sagström was also involved in setting up the online poker cardroom PokerChamps.com with Gus Hansen and Tony Guoga. In May 2006, Sagström played Liz Lieu in a highly publicized series of three $200,000 limit Texas hold 'em matches at The Venetian. Sagström ultimately lost the series 2-1. Whilst Sagström has competed in events of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), World Poker Tour (WPT), and European Poker Tour (EPT), he is best known for his online poker record. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a series of poker tournaments held annually in Paradise, Nevada and, since 2004, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment. It dates its origins to 1970, when Benny Binion invited seven of the best-known poker players to the Horseshoe Casino for a single tournament, with a set start and stop time, and a winner determined by a secret ballot of the seven players. As of 2020, the WSOP consists of 101 events, with most major poker variants featured. However, in recent years, over half of the events have been variants of Texas hold 'em. The 2009 World Series of Poker was the 40th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP). It was held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and ran from May 27 to July 15. The Poker Nations Cup is an international poker tournament, televised on Channel 4 from March 2006 onwards. The series is commentated by Jesse May and Barny Boatman. Padraig Parkinson covered for Boatman in preliminary match 2. The series was filmed in Cardiff, Wales. Thomas Kremser was the tournament director, and the dealers were Marina Kremser and Stevie Pollak. The event in 2006 was sponsored by 888.com. Ken Lennaárd
Ken Richard Douglas Lennaárd (born 29 May 1971) is a Swedish professional poker player and former actor, based in Stockholm, Sweden. He was also the chairman of the Swedish Poker Federation until he resigned in October 2006. Poker career Lennaárd first finished in the money of a World Series of Poker (WSOP) event in 1998 when he finished 6th in the $1,500 pot limit Omaha event won by Donnacha O'Dea. His continued exposure to the European poker tournament circuit led to his appearance in season 5 of Late Night Poker. He finished 2nd to Padraig Parkinson in his opening heat, qualifying him for the semi-final won by Joe Beevers. The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is an online poker tournament series sponsored by PokerStars. It is played on the PokerStars website in September. The European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments similar to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT), created by John Duthie, winner of the inaugural Poker Million tournament. It began in 2004 as part of the worldwide explosion in Texas Hold 'em popularity. Since 2011 the EPT has been sponsored and wholly owned and controlled by PokerStars the online casino and taped by Sunset + Vine for television broadcast across Europe. In seasons 1-3, the most significant difference between the competing poker tours was the buy-in and its effect on the prize pool, with the EPT featuring buy-ins about half the size of the WPT.
