Erik Midtgarden
Erik Midtgarden (born 18 November 1987) is a Norwegian footballer and player-coach who plays as a midfielder for Åssiden. He has previously played for Tippeligaen sides Odd Grenland, Lillestrøm, Hønefoss and Mjøndalen and won the Meistriliiga with Flora Tallinn in 2011. Midtgarden has also spent time with the First Division sides Pors Grenland, Notodden (previous spell) and Mjøndalen (two previous spells). He has represented Norway at under-17, under-18 and under-21 level. Club career Born in Skien, Midtgarden joined Odd Grenland's first-team squad ahead of the 2005 season. He made his debut in the first round of the 2005 Norwegian Football Cup match against Langesund/Stathelle, when he played the last 20 minutes as a winger and scored Odd's last goal in the 4–0 victory. He made three appearances for Odd in Tippeligaen in his first season at the club, and was the top goalscorer for the reserve team in the 2. divisjon with eleven goals. Skien
Skien () is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county in Norway. In modern times it is regarded as part of the traditional region of Grenland, although historically it belonged to Grenmar/Skiensfjorden, while Grenland referred the Norsjø area and Bø. 2012 Tippeligaen
The 2012 Tippeligaen was the 68th completed season of top division football in Norway. The competition began on 23 March 2012 and ended on 18 November 2012, with a summer break from 28 May to 30 June. Molde were the defending champions, while Hønefoss and Sandnes Ulf entered as the promoted teams from the 2011 1. divisjon. They replaced Start and Sarpsborg 08 who were relegated to the 2012 1. divisjon. On 11 November 2011, Molde won the title with one matchday left to play after a 1–0 home win over Hønefoss. Vegard Hansen
Vegard Hansen (born 8 August 1969) is a Norwegian football coach and former player who coaches 1. divisjon club Kongsvinger. During his time at Mjøndalen, the club was promoted to the 1. divisjon in 2008 and reached the play-offs for promotion to the Eliteserien in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2014 and 2018 the club won promotion to the top division. 2006 Norwegian First Division
The 2006 1. divisjon season (referred to as Adeccoligaen for sponsorship reasons) was a Norwegian second-tier football season. The season kicked off on April 9, 2006, with eleven rounds being played before the World Cup break on June 5. The league resumed on July 2 and the final round was played on November 5, 2006. Strømsgodset were promoted to the Tippeligaen as First Division winners, along with Aalesund who finished second. Strømsgodset will be playing in the top division for the first time since 2001. Odd Grenland 2
Norwegian reserve football teams compete at all levels of league football within the Norwegian football league system apart from the top two divisions, Eliteserien and 1. divisjon. The highest league these teams can currently enter is the 2. divisjon, set at the third tier of the league system. The reserve teams are attached to their first teams with a "2" suffix and must play in a lower league than the first team. Furthermore, if a club's first team plays in the 1. divisjon, the reserves team cannot play in the 2. divisjon either. If a reserve team ends up at a promotion spot when it is not allowed to be promoted, the promotion is awarded to best following team in the league standings which is allowed to be promoted. 2005 Norwegian Football Cup
The 2005 Norwegian Football Cup was the 100th edition of the Norwegian Football Cup. The tournament started on 7 May 2005 and was contested by 128 teams, going through 7 rounds before a winner could be declared. The final match was played on 6 November at Ullevaal stadion in Oslo. Molde won their 2nd Norwegian Championship title after defeating Lillestrøm in the final with the score 4–2 after extra time. The clubs from Tippeligaen all made it to the third round (round of 32) without problems. Two surprises came in the third round, as F.C. Lyn Oslo and Tromsø IL lost to Hønefoss BK and Alta I.F. respectively. Alta's inclusion into the fourth round (round of 16) marked the longest a club from Finnmark had ever come in the Norwegian men's football cup. Norwegian First Division
The Norwegian First Division, also called 1. divisjon and OBOS-ligaen (named sponsor is property developer OBOS), is the second-highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Each year, the top finishing teams in the 1. divisjon are promoted to the Eliteserien, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to 2. divisjon. 1. divisjon was previously known as 2. divisjon (1963–1990) and replaced regional league Landsdelsserien (1951–1962) after the latter was dissolved after the 1961–62 season.
