Eric Grey
Eric Charles Grey (1 May 1895 – 2 May 1977) was a New Zealand rugby league player. A , Grey represented Auckland at a provincial level, and was a member of the New Zealand national team in 1920. He played two test matches for New Zealand against England. In 1921 he played for Maritime against City Rovers in the first ever game on Carlaw Park Carlaw Park was a multi-purpose stadium in Parnell, a central suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. Ian Neville Grey (6 April 1931 – 7 July 2009) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who represented New Zealand in the 1954 World Cup. Early life Born in Auckland in 1931, Grey was the son of New Zealand rugby league representative Eric Grey and was a noted tennis player in his youth. Playing career Grey played in the Auckland Rugby League competition as a loose forward, first playing three games for Richmond in 1948 before moving to Point Chevalier between 1948 and 1956. He then captained Northern Districts in 1957 and was captain-coach in 1958. Northern Districts was a combination of North Shore and Northcote. Mount Eliza is a seaside suburb on the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula local government area. City Rovers
The City Newton Dragons are a defunct New Zealand rugby league club that was based at Victoria Park, Auckland. The club was created in 1948 by a merger of two original clubs, the City Rovers and Newton Rangers. Both the Rovers and the Rangers participated in the inaugural Auckland Rugby League competition in 1910. In 2004, the club was absorbed by the Ponsonby Ponies, who play a match in the City Newton colours annually to keep the heritage of the club alive.
