Eric Ernest Falk Pretty
Eric Ernest Falk Pretty (1891–1967) or commonly referred to as Dato Pretty, was a Civil service, civil servant and resident minister who formerly held the position of List of administrators of British Brunei, British Resident to Brunei. Education and early career Pretty is born in 1891, and was educated at Harrow School and Magdalen College, Oxford, Magdalen College in 1909. He would go on to be a cadet in the Straits Settlements with Colonial Office in November 1914. Later in January 1916, he passes his final exams in Malay language. In September 1917, he became a collector of land revenue in Johor Bahru, Johore Bahru. After World War I, he became a Second lieutenant, 2nd Lieutenant and assistant Adjutant with the Singapore Volunteer Corps, Johore Volunteer Rifles in May 1918.
