Eric Davis (American Football)
Eric Wayne Davis (born January 26, 1968) is a former professional American football player who was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 1990 NFL draft. Davis played in 13 NFL seasons from 1990 to 2002. He played college football at Jacksonville State. In October 2008, he was elected to the Division II College Hall of Fame. In May 2013, he was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. College career Davis played for Jacksonville State, which was at the time a Division II school, from 1986 to 1989. As a senior, he led the team to a 13-1 record, a Gulf South Conference championship, and an appeareance in the Division II championship game. He finished 1989 with 51 tackles, 8 pass deflections, and 6 interceptions. He was voted into the school's athletic hall of fame in 1999. Eric Keith Davis (born May 29, 1962) is an American former center fielder for several Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, most notably the Cincinnati Reds, to which he owes his nickname Eric the Red. Davis was 21 years old when he made his major league debut with the Reds on May 19, 1984. Davis spent eight seasons with the Reds and later played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Detroit Tigers, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants. Eric William Charles Davis (26 February 1932 – 24 July 2007) was an English footballer who played as a centre forward. He made 136 appearances in the Football League for Plymouth Argyle, Scunthorpe United, Chester and Oldham Athletic, scoring 61 goals. Career Born in Stonehouse, Plymouth, he began his career playing Rhyl while on national service. During this time he also had a trial at Chester, who he would join later in his career. Davis played for Tavistock Town when he returned to Devon and joined Plymouth Argyle in 1952. Having scored on his debut in March 1953, he was a back-up player to Maurice Tadman for two seasons and then played more regularly over the next three. When the club signed Wilf Carter in 1957, Davis was transferred to Scunthorpe United, having scored 29 goals in 63 league games. Blue Cheer was an American rock band that initially performed and recorded in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was sporadically active until 2009. Eric Quail Davies (26 August 1909 – 11 November 1976) was a South African cricketer who played in five Test matches from 1936 to 1939. He was born in King William's Town and died in Port Alfred, both in Cape Province. Davies was a left-handed tail-end batsman and a right-arm fast bowler with a short first-class cricket career spread over many seasons. He first appeared for Eastern Province in three matches in the 1929–30 season and took four wickets for 36 against Rhodesia in the third of these. He then played just one match in 1930–31 and a further single game in 1934–35, with little success in either.
