Eric Carter (BMX Rider)
Eric Robert Carter (born March 6, 1970), is a former American professional "Old/Mid School" Bicycle Motocross (BMX) racer whose prime competitive years were from 1983 to 1998. He had the nickname "The Golden Child,"''BMX Action'' October 1988 Vol.13 No.10 pg.22 and later in his BMX career, acquired the moniker "The Earthquake." More recently, he has been known simply as "EC." Beginning in 1996, he converted fully to mountain bike racing (MTB) and has become one of the most respected racers in that discipline of bicycle racing. Eric Carter (pilot)
Eric Carter (12 February 1920 – 26 July 2021) was a British Royal Air Force pilot. Early life Eric Carter was born on 12 February 1920 near Bromsgrove in Worcestershire, England. World War II Carter joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1939. He said he joined "because the Germans were committing such horrible atrocities". Carter was posted to No. 615 Squadron. Carter left the RAF in 1946. Carter was one of only four non-Russians to receive the Order of Lenin, the Soviet Union's highest military honour. In March 2013, Carter was awarded the Arctic Star for his efforts during the war. In September 2014, he was awarded the Medal of Ushakov by the Russian government. Eric Carter (born January 23, 1969 in Jesup, Georgia) was a football player in the Canadian Football League for eleven seasons. Carter played as a cornerback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1994-1998, the BC Lions from 1999-2003 and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2004. He was a CFL All-Star four times and won a Grey Cup for the Lions in 2000. He played college football at Knoxville College. Carter was selected to the Lions' 2004 50th Anniversary Dream Team.
